Works well on our Australian Cattle Dog Puppy
I let our ACD puppy (just shy of 4 months old) sniff it and hear how it sounds at the different rotation speeds. He was curious, but showed no signs of anxiety or a need to avoid it at the low speed, but showed some concern at the high speed. I tried it using the low-speed setting after spending a few days helping him get used to me manipulating his paws (which he didn’t mind most of the time unless I held them too tight).I was able to trim the nails on his front paws using the low speed and doing the trimming near his bed time over a period of two or three days. I think he kind of liked the slight vibration. Note: I limited my trimming to just shy of where the final (and sharp) hook occurs on each nail.He has a veterinarian appointment in a few days, so, at that time, I will pick up hints and suggestions on how to best use the trimmer, how frequently I should trim his nails, and on how to avoid getting too close to the quick on each nail.I like the convenience of the USB “C” connector at the bottom, so I don’t have to worry about type “AA’ or “AAA” batteries.. (The LED display on the side shows the percentage of charge remaining in the battery.) The trimmer appears do be of quality material. The LED at the grinder did not work at all. (I tried different settings, different button-press patterns, and removed the cap over the grinder wheel.) The light never turned on. (This, despite the marketing material highlighting its importance in this model.)

    Great For Maintaining Nails
First, I would strongly recommend you get your dogs nails professionally cut by a vet or a groomer. You should have a good starting space, with a properly trimmed paw. This grinder is good for maintenance of nails – I would not use it as my only nail trimmer. Our dog is not a fan of most trimmers, but he does okay with this one. It doesn’t make a loud sound, which he appears to appreciate. This grinder is good for keeping nails trim and clean – it’s great for removing any sharp spots that your groomer/vet might leave. This has worked out great for us, keeping our dogs nails trim and clean.

    Safer than clipping
Our dogs are little guys and were very put off by this device initially, but they are adapting fairly quickly. It does do a good job of shortening and smoothing their nails and is much safer than clipping with smaller dogs.

Quiet, but dogs are still terrified of it
It may be quiet for us, but it’s definitely not quiet enough for them. They run and hide when I turn it on. Treats help, but it takes too long to file nails down that it’ll take a whole bag of treats to do all of their nails. I’m still sticking with nail clippers, but I’ll use this grinder to clean up after clipping. This is a good Dremel-type tool for crafting though. If you’re looking for a cordless filer for crafting, this will definitely fit the bill.

    Dog nail trimmer extraordinaire
This is a very quiet but yet high speed rotating nail trimmer. The sound doesn’t startle your doggo, so that is the first bonus feature. The second is the quality of the ceramic trimming wheel. It quickly takes the sharp point off the nail. Another super feature it the bright LED on end of the trimmer. Some dogs like mine have a lot of fur around their toes, and this light lets you see the nail so much easier. The USB-C charging function is fantastic, and it has a window that displays the charge status 1-100 so you know how long you have to work. A great tool to care for your furry friends.

So, I have charged this device, and yet the unit never turns on. Turned on once but not the grinder part, display showed something then cutoff immediately.

    Badly made, could be dangerous
So, first things first, I wasn’t sure if the issue I experienced was just a defective item or not, it after checking the reviews, it’s apparent it has something to do with how the nail grinders are being manufactured.Upon opening the package, I made sure to review the instructions (which has more language options than most I will say). After doing so, I plugged the nail grinder in with the cord provided to charge. After waiting a few hours, I took it out to start checking it out and desensitizing my pup to the item. My puppy is 4 months old, so she wasn’t 100% on the whole process, but she was a trooper. The scary part happened when I gently applied the nail grinder to my pup’s front claw. The grinder, inside of its housing, jumped, and threatened to dislodge. I tested it a few times to see what was going on, and confirmed that it was indeed the metal piece trying to fly the coop. The noise it made when in its housing sounded like an amplified version of what the grinder should sound like (which without the issue is quite quiet) with an added grinding sound that came from the metal absolutely destroying the plastic housing. This set my pup off, and she decided she wanted nothing to do with it anymore, rightfully so.Along with the metal piece trying to fly off into outer space, the charge drops at an insanely fast rate, and is easily bumped off if you’re not careful. The light feature never worked for me, not once. Not great. From what I’ve seen, not everyone experiences this issue. Some people it works like a dream for them. I would say it seems about half and half with who it works for and who it doesn’t. Honestly, paying any price for an item that may end up being dangerous just seems like a no go for me. I would not recommend this item, not even to my worst enemy. Don’t risk t for the biscuit.
