Much Better than Clipping!
I hate clipping my dogâs toenails almost to the point of it being phobic about it. I worry Iâll cut into the quick and hurt him. Then he will run away and Iâll have to drive up and down the streets like a creeper yelling out the window, âLassie, come back! Come back, Lassie!!â My Irish neighbors will think Iâm looking for a child and call the police and then Iâll probably wind up getting thrown in jail. Yeah, so I donât like clipping toenails!With that said, the manufacturer has kindly added clippers as a bonus and they are actually pretty good on their own. The clippers have a backstop behind the blades that regulates how much of the nail you can cut at a time. Itâs a simple solution that goes a long way in helping to prevent cutting too much off if your dog squirms during trimming.I love the grinder! It works great. Iâve never had this kind of trimmer before and now I wonât be without one. Trimming my dogs nails has gone from being an ordeal to a breeze. The grinder removes the nails in a quick but controlled action. The speed control allows you to adjust the speed of removal on the fly. The head includes two very bright LED lights that throw a ton of illumination on the job.The grinder wheel is covered by a plastic head with a slot that allows the nail to access the grinder wheel. The slot also helps hold the nail stable and in place makingk the process easier for your pet.I used the heavy grit grinder head and it literally threw off plumes of toenail dust. I trimmed both front paws in less than five minutes and thatâs with giving my pup a break between paws. There are two more grinding heads with smoother grits but Iâm sticking with the heavier one. Itâs a trim, not a manicure!This is one of the most important features of this grinder. The motor is very quiet. Getting his toenails ground for the first time was probably a pretty freaky experience for my dog but he chilled out pretty quick. He wasnât a huge fan but he didnât fight it too much. However, if the unit had been loud I think that probably would have been too much for him and the job would have been exponentially harder.This is a well designed product and kit. There is a potential for the plastic head that covers the grinding wheel to break but that would be due to carelessness on my part. Even if it did break the grinder will still work do no big deal.Iâm really glad I got this. It does a great job which makes the whole nail trimming process a lot easier for me and my dog.

So Much Easier than Clipping
With 3 cats and a dog, we do a lot of nail trimming in our house. Not to anyone’s surprise, the cats are the WORST when it comes to paw-dicures (Ba Dum Tss!). Our oldest cat is 17 and has pretty much given up on grooming herself, and if her nails aren’t kept trimmed, they become ingrown and grow into her pads. She’s a feisty little thing, though, and really puts up a fight when I try to clip them, so I thought I’d try grinding them. I did it today for the first time and couldn’t believe how much easier it was. We wrapped her in a baby blanket and my husband fed her a lickable cat treat (we call them kitty go-gurts) while I did her nails. She’s quite deaf so the little bit of noise didn’t bother her, but she did try to pull her feet away from the grinder a few times when it vibrated a little more strongly. She was mostly content to be snuggled & fed a go-gurt. The grinder has three speeds, but I only used the lowest setting. The light is a definite plus, making it so much easier to see the quick before you trim too far. I do wish, however, that the light was a little bit brighter. It’s a very nice set that can all be stored in a velour bag – trimmer with grinder cover, charger cord, spare grinder wheels, and manual claw clippers. It came almost fully charged and ready to go right out of the box. Recommend
