IT’S A MANICURE TOOL TOO !
OMG, this is the very best tool for my fingernails! Runs smoothly, has 3 speeds, and the diamond dust embedded in the disk is so smooth it leaves my nails very soft and even. No more problem with emery boards wearing out on the edges and not being fine enough grit. I just removed the plastic protective dog nail cover so that the disk is fully exposed. I touch the nail very lightly with the disk, and my nails never end up frayed. And it leaves absolutely no roughness to snag on delicate knits. I purchased this tool specifically for use on my own nails, and I’m so glad I did. It deserves TEN STARS. TWENTY STARS. You get my drift. If you’re looking for this as a pet nail grinder, there couldn’t be a more gentle tool. I highly recommend it for your nails OR your pets’ nails.

I like the speeds and the grinder is perfect for my dog but however I like some have a large dog and even though they say the guard cover comes right off.. it did not on mine. I have turned and pulled and looked it over for something to line up and it’s not coming off. So 3 stars due to that.

Refuses to charge up, does not turn on
I tried repeatedly to get this unit to charge up, but it would not. The red light comes on for a few minutes and then shuts off. The unit does not turn on either, so I know it is not fully charged. There is supposed to be a green light that comes on when fully charged. I will have to return this as it is broken.

The nail grinder has 3 speed variables to control how fast you can groom your petâs claws. You can do slow and precise movements or just quickly grind down sharp tips with the high speed option. I use this for both my cat and my dog and I find myself alternating between different speeds depending on their moods. So convenient to have options!The LED light is a nice touch and provides some illumination during grooming sessions. The vibration isnât too severe and itâs quieter than other nail grinders Iâve used so my pets donât get too anxious.The build quality is just great. It doesnât feel flimsy. I can tell itâll last me at least a few years. I also love the colour! Things can easily get lost in my âpet hygiene binâ but this is so easy to find.

Yes, “as advertised”, but it’s all true!First, this is – without doubt – the quietest electric device I have ever owned! The noise level is remarkable low! I found myself briefly raising the tool to my ear, to make sure it was on. It’s that quiet.I have been trimming dog’s nails for years. A lot of years. As it decades. When these electric devices started to appear, I was skeptical as to their performance. Some were dedicated units and some, like the Dremel, were adapted with different attachments. Regardless of what system I tried, they generated far too much noise. In addition, the noise was quite loud at the high end, which in my experience, caused that animal to immediately react. So there I am, holding onto a paw with one hand, in the other a screaming rotary tool and then I am going to apply a grinding, vibration to a nail. Never worked out well, for me or the dog. I have been using “guillotine” snips ever since.Now, this nail grinder by Papifeed is different. A whole lot different! As mentioned above, the sound level is amazingly low. Coupled with that, the vibration generated by the motor is also low. All excellent attributes. The unit is also very compact and light in your hands. It is easy to twist and move around – not awkward in the least.The grinding “disk” or “wheel” is a metal material, studded with some grit that makes short work on nails. The installed guard provides a bit of a safety guard, or it can be removed to fully expose the grinding disk/wheel.Charging is simple – plug the unit into a 5VDC supply and wait for the red LED to change to green. The only maintenance item is to keep the grinding disk/wheel clean from excess nail dust. Again, simple.Bottom line – a truly excellent pet nail trimmer! It is as stated in the literature, it’s very quiet, powerful, easy to use and most important, it does not cause stress to the animal! Lastly, the price is amazing! I would have thought the price of this unit to be at least 50% more – and that would still be a deal!

Bought this for our older Parson Russell who is getting cranky with his nails in old age. He’s away visiting at time of this review, so I tried this on my cranky pants cats on low speed. They were ok at first, but I feel that speed ended up feeling like a tickle and they soon had had enough of it. Next I’ll try on speed 2. I did notice that the finer nails almost jammed in the shield a few times. As others noted, removing the shield is next to impossible, I wasn’t able to do it and since I didn’t want to break it I gave up. Really big design flaw. I also never even noticed the lights, they added nothing that I could tell (as if you were going to be doing this in the dark?). Also not impressed with companies that charge more for the same product just because of colour. At time of writing, the blue trimmer is $3 less than the gold or silver. Annoying. The description also states the grinding wheel is good for 5 yrs…so where do you go for replacement IF the grinder actually lasts that long, I wonder? Anyway, it works but has caveats.
