Helps with smell.
Definitely a huge upgrade for my cats. Very easy to clean and for the price it’s definitely worth it. My cats don’t use the kitty litter mats but other than that I would definitely recommend! I’ve noticed an improvement of smell as well.

Well designed tall side litter box
Was looking for a new litter box with taller sides to stop our diggers from flinging cat litter everywhere. We’ve tried the enclosed top entry style boxes and they just don’t like them. They don’t like the enclosed feeling. So I was looking for one that had tall sides but still front entry and open on top. Also needed a large size since we have a couple of big cats and if the box isn’t big enough they sometimes “miss” over the side.Saw this litter box and thought it looked promising for our needs. Was mainly focused on the tall sides and overall dimensions, but the pan being made of stainless steel instead of plastic was attractive as well.Received this litter box and set it up. After the initial cautiousness the began to adapt to it. So far so good. Definitely less litter scattered around. Not perfect but much better. It also includes a “step” that is designed to try and get them to walk across it and help clean the litter off their paws. Realistically this doesn’t work for our case They use the step to go in but always jump out right over the stop so it’s kind of useless. The actually scatter less litter when the step isn’t there because they sort of walk out instead of jumping over it.It has and included scoop and a slot in the back to store it so that’s a nice touch. Wish the handle on the scoop was a bit longer though. The lower pan seems decent quality stainless steel. It’s quite thin and lightweight, but should be fine. I wouldn’t try and lift it with a full load of litter though as you might possibly bent the sides. So far the cats and I are happy with this litter box.

Helped my back-up boy!
I have several cats, but only one is a litter-box problem child. Heâs a bigger boy; about 14 lbs, and probably 14â-15â long, so just a bit chonky, but also big-boned. He also has several litter-box demands, and if not met he will his âpresentâ his dissatisfaction as a âpresentâ. First, he needs separate litter boxes for liquids and solids. Second, litter boxes cannot be covered. Third, he must be able to enter and exit each box from both ends. Fourth, his boxes must be cleaned 2x a day – early morning and evening. None of those are actually a major issue, as I have multiple cats so all are appropriate anyway. My problem with him is when he enters a box, he will either stop as soon as his butt hits the wall to deposit his âsolidâ, or, he will walk to the back of a box, turn around, and pee right up against the back wall. Sometimes, he decides to stop at the front and pee, which then goes all down the front outside of the box, onto the mat⦠The issue with his pee against the back wall is it gets difficult to clean when it hardens (I use scoop), and, well, the front is obvious. I ordered this hoping it might help, but was concerned when I set it up. It says itâs XL, but the top that you set on it actually curves inward, which reduces the actual usable âacreageâ for that level of the box. Considering my PIA doesnât like feeling enclosed, I thought this uninformed fact would be an issue. But, Iâm persistent, and started using a cat attract litter additive that has worked before. It took a while, but, lo and behold, this box and I have solved 1/2 of his (actually, my) litter box problem; he now pees closer to the middle, in this box!! The curved top comes to about his withers (top of shoulders) and prevents him from backing up to the wall, but because his head is out, he doesnât feel closed-in. The little step on the lip, into the box, stops him from peeing down the front, so far. (I donât think heâll stand in the box and try to pee on the lip-step, but, with him, who knows!). Itâs so much easier to scoop a ball than scrape build-up against a wall! I might consider a second, but right now Iâm happy with this part! I do recommend it, and was pleasantly surprised. The only reason I took off a star is unless you have a small cat, this isnât a true XL box for bigger cats; the bigger cats wonât fit under the curve. The box, itself, is 9â from bottom to top of curve in front, and 12â to bottom to top of curve in back. You will then need to deduct the # of inches of litter you have as it will reduce the actual clearance from bottom to top. The side to side clearance is 10â from curve to curve in front, and 12â from curve to curve in back.

Doesn’t hold on to odors like plastic boxes do
I’ve never tried litter boxes made of stainless steel before, but I have had cats most of my life, so I’m very familiar with how disgusting plastic litter boxes get over time, as their porous surfaces slowly become permeated with the substances that are trapped up against them over time.I haven’t had this litter box for very long, I think about a month now, but it’s very easy to clean and the solid clumps that form along the edge of the box as it’s being used, are very easy to scrape off without leaving any smelly residue or filthy outline behind, as my plastic boxes have done in the past.By far my favorite feature of this box is the step-stool thingy that is supposed to help get the little off the bottom of my cat’s feet before she can track it throughout my house…It doesn’t get 100% of the “sand” off the bottom of her feet, but it gets enough to make a noticeable difference in the amount I’m sweeping and vacuuming off my floor every day.I also like that the scooper thing hangs from the rear of the box, so I don’t have to put the dirty scooper on a shelf or somewhere for it to just be gross and unsanitary. Instead, it hangs directly over the very litter that it scoops, so the unsanitary aspects of the litter box is contained to within the litter box.I’ve had a lot of litter box designs over the decades, and this one is by far my favorite.
