Okay, only one of them is a fat fat at almost 20lbs. The other comes in around 12.Fabric and construction appear to be good quantity. If I come back here ranting, you’ll know something failed quickly.Our usage is a cross country move. We have an extra long container for them with food and cat litter to fit the back of our car, but we wanted another to travel to the hotel room. A double helps for the few hotels that set a random limit that is problematic or charge $100 for each pet because the pet isn’t done by $100 more worth of anything for a single night passing through and of course there’s little if any competition among hotels that take cats so we don’t really have options.The metal frame reinforcement seems sturdy but it is TOUGH to connect. I’m not weak but I struggled a bit. Once together, it held the two cats with no issue for the trip to the vet.The bag collapses down nicely so we can pack it away until it’s time to transfer the cats. I don’t look forward to assembling every night on our 7 day trip, but I’d prefer it not fail. I can think of a few methods that would be an easier assembly but it works and that’s what matters to me.***update 9/21/2023 – post cross country move***This was used to transport our cats from their “houses” in the back of my vehicle to the hotel rooms. It worked great and the setup became easier as the connections were used. The first setup I struggled but the last set up was extremely easy getting the metal bars to connect. We did have one metal link spring apart on the strap, but I think that’s because I’m strong and it got stuck on something. I was able to bend it back in place. That was the only issue I had and this thing was amazing for transporting the heavy cats.

The absolute best carriers that I’ve ever purchased. We needed something large and roomy enough for our move so that our three big boys would be safe and comfortable during the car ride and these were better than I could have hoped. They were sturdy and very easy to assemble and the perfect size with a convenient design. They even have pockets! And easy to carry with the shoulder strap or handles. We have three cats from 14lbs to a Maine Coon at 23lbs and they all had plenty of room to be comfy and safe. Speaking of safe, our boys tried their best to escape the whole way but these carriers were more than up to the challenge. They were perfect. So much so that the boys still love using them as their little nap spot around the house. But if you want to store them away they’re easy to break down and store. If you’re looking for a sturdy safe carrier then this is THE ONE. We’re all so so so happy with them.

We bought this for our incredibly anxious 17lb long-haired male cat. He needs regular sanitary shaves, and getting him to the vet and/or groomer was a nightmare which resulted in many last-minute cancellations for about 7 months. During this time, we tried a half dozen other carriers of various styles and sizes and our poor anxious boy would pretty much panic every time we tried to put him in it, hissing, fighting, biting, peeing and scratching the entire time.Finally, we found this carrier and decided to try it based on the size. When it came in, we were very impressed at the construction and build. It was quick and easy to assemble and once put together is incredibly sturdy. We left it out in our living room with all three doors open for our four cats to get used to it. It was only a week or two before our anxious big man was lying inside just enjoying having a box he could sit in and quickly escape from through any of the three openings (top, bottom, and left side). Additionally, our two young kittens regularly use it as a jungle gym and playpen, jumping in, on and running through it while playing chase and it’s shown no signs of wear in the past 6 months. The 8-lb kittens also like to curl up inside it together, and still have plenty of room with both of them in it.Since then, we’ve gotten the big boy to the vet and groomer twice with success. The vets, groomers and vet techs comment each time they see it on how large, comfortable and sturdy it is compared to most carriers they see regularly. Thanks to the three separate openings, our vet was able to do his entire annual exam, with the small exception of weighing him, while he sat in the carrier feeling safe and secure. It’s been such a tremendous help in getting our boy proper vet and grooming care and I would highly recommend this carrier to anyone with a big, beefy cat, especially if they get anxious about travelling.He’s still not crazy about travelling, but this carrier gives him enough room to comfortably lay down, stand up, and turn around while also allowing him to see out all sides and feel safe. We were worried that after the first vet trip, he’d develop some sort of negative association with it, but both times that he’s gotten home from a trip, he’s voluntarily gone back inside within an hour because he still seems to consider it a safe space. It was only $115 CAD when we originally bought it, and I feel like it was an absolute steal at that price. If I ever see it drop below $150 again, I’ll likely scoop up a second because I suspect it will outlast all of our current cats.

Although I’ve not had to use this carrier yet it appears to be exactly the right size for an adult Maine Coon.My cat has sat in it without being spooked and has plenty of room. I’ve tried other carriers and this one is the best I have had for these large cats.
