Works great once you figure out the best way to use it
It took me a while, and several cuttings/grindings to figure out the best way to use this bit. I’ve got a large Rhodesian Ridgeback who doesn’t exactly love getting her nails done. I’ve used and still use clippers to take off the excess growth, but I’ve been manually filing them with a nail file for a couple years to smooth the edges.Finally decided to take the plunge and get one of these bits. The Sawtooth-bit is a little odd and I found it causes the bit to jump, which can crack/chip the nail, and also tends to scare my dog a bit more than usual. This isn’t ideal when trying to wrangle a 90lb dog that’s all muscle. However I finally discovered that using the bit completely sideways so that her nail is only coming in contact with the concave (and smooth!) part of the bit worked wonders. Now it sands the nails down nicely, no more accidentally splitting and it’s very apparent that it’s working, and quickly.

Great for smoothing, but not for grinding
For filing down the sharp nails edges after cutting them, this works well. For grinding down the nails, this isn’t as great. I do like the included brush for maintaining the tip.

Fast Cooling Bit
The drill bit perfectly fits in my dremal. The bit stayed cool when I was using it but when trying to file my dog nails I am not sure if I didn’t have the speed high enough but the bit was bouncing off the nail sometimes. This was the first time using a dremal on my dog’s nails so it definitely could have been a user error.Overall the bit comes exactly as described and I liked that it comes with a brush to help clean out the bit.
