Great for my pup
I know retractable leashes have some ardent detractors but for my dog the high quality Flexi are great. He has a lot of freedom and the leash stays clean and out of ground vegetation. I live on a gravel road and rarely encounter other dogs and not many people and it’s easy to use some arm swings and locks to “reel” him close to me. He’s under 25 lbs, he loves everybody so he would run to meet them, but with this leash I can hold him and the flexible end and his size there’s no shock on me or him when he’s stopped. This one is rather big and heavy compared to the one I take on our hikes, and I wondered if I had overdone it when it came, but it’s been great for our road and wood path walks.

Best Retractable Leash I’ve Ever Owned
I swear my dog has ADHD, very well behaved in terms of not barking or biting, but when going out for walks this big ol’ boy tears off running at each new sight… Especially squirrels, of which there are a lot. But this leash holds its own, standing up to his strength allowing me to play tug of war on every walk. The leash doesn’t tangle or get stuck at all, which have been common problems with other leashes I’ve had. It also has a protective length of the leash closest to where it connects to the harness/collar, which I imagine would be very helpful with dogs who have problems with bitting the leash. Very happy with my purchase, had this for about a year now and haven’t had any problems. Whenever it’s time to retire this leash, I’ll definitely be getting this model/brand again.

I got this primarily because of the bungee feature on the clip attachment and this did not disappoint at all. When my dog pulls the bungee allows enough room to take some of the snap out of the line and has really improved our walks. This thing is BIG though so be prepared for that. The adjustable hand grip does do a good job of making it feel manageable though.

I wanted to give this Flexi leash a good long test (like a couple months of use) with my wild and woolly German Shepherd boy who loves a good squirrel chase, a long walk, pulls on a 6 foot leash like the world is about to end, and has the strength of 5 bulls. This Flexi leash has held up very well under the stress he puts it to.First, having the option of letting my pup reel out 15 feet during safe areas of our walk makes for a much more pleasant walk for both of us. He doesn’t pull on this leash like he does with a short leash. Also when he does pull, the Flexi has a bungee at the end so it absorbs some of the shock instead of my arms getting all of it. Interestingly, while he has been a real pill about being clicker trained (he is super stubborn – even our trainer is surprised at his stubbornness) he has learned the ‘click’ noise this leash makes when I stop it from letting out more length and he quits pulling. At least he’s trained himself on this *major eye roll*.The Flexi is the only retractable leash I would trust for my big boy. There are cheaper leashes that say they are for up to 110 pounds. My pup is almost 100. Even if he was back around 80, I still wouldn’t trust anything with less strength than the Flexi. When I searched for a retractable leash, I originally googled “seatbelt mechanism leash heavy duty”. Flexi came up. Ha ha.The body of this leash is comfortable for me to hold. Something I noticed after having my pup yank me a few times is that the body has a little springy piece of plastic on the inside of the grip. This does not seem important on initial inspection, but wow does it save my hand when my boy takes a lunge at something. Both safety AND comfort have been thoroughly considered in the design of this leash. We won’t be using anything else.

Always happy with Flexi
I already have this thick tape leash, and the 6 m. That one is good for walking around the neighborhood. I have a 70 pound husky that cannot be off leash so when we go hiking, I wanted him to have something a bit longer. The 8 m leash is great for that. The only issue is I cannot let him build up any momentum or he gets going too fast and I cannot stop him. Thatâs why I would not recommend it on shorter walks but to use this on hikes or if you have a dog that is not so hyper. it is a great leash, very well-made and if they made one longer, I would probably buy that one as well

Easy to see my dog at night!
The casing is a bit heavy, but itâs a well-built product that keeps my golden safely in hand, while allowing some room to meander on our walks.

But not indestructible. The black springy section at the end of the leash is very chew resistant but should be six inches longer so the dog canât as easily reach the joining area of the black springy section and the flat orange retractable part of the leash. The flat orange retractable section of the leash is tough but will still accumulate damage from aggressive chewing over several months.

Seit über 25 Jahren halte ich Deutsche Schäferhunde, und seit genauso langer Zeit führe ich diese Hunde beim täglichen Spaziergang und/oder sonstigen auÃer-sportlichen Tätigkeiten an Rollleinen der Firma FLEXI!Da mein absolutes Lieblingsmodell der Firma leider nicht mehr produziert wird, und ich somit nach 15 (!!!) Jahren (Ja, eine originale FLEXI hält tatsächlich problemlos so lange) mal wieder eine neue Rollleine kaufen musste, entschied ich mich für dieses Modell.Ich bin voll und ganz zufrieden, lediglich das Gummiexpander Stück am Anfang der Leine ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber ansonsten kann ich die Leine bedenkenlos an Halter groÃer und starker Hunde empfehlen.
