An Ace In The Hole
I have a casement window type window that requires a crank to open and close. The other day, I noticed that the window doesn’t close shut no matter how much I try to crank the window’s handle. After examining closer, it looks like the window is in need a replacement part to work.When I’ll get to replacing a part (the other window still works) is anybody’s guess. But I do need the window shut in case of a storm or to turn on the AC in summer or shut for winter.I live in an upper floor well above ground level. I can’t have someone outside push against the window to close. So, I looked on youtube where someone showed how to use to a suction cup to grab and suck into the window from the inside and pull shut, then lock the window. That’s exactly what I did.The suction cups came two to an order. It is made of strong aluminum with a very strong suction. When using, it firmly sucks onto the glass window and doesn’t feel like the suction would come off at all. One side of the handle folds up and down to create the suction. When first trying, the handle snapped back and bumped against my middle finger and made that sore, so don’t be careless with them.This product is something I may just use once in a lifetime. Picked up my back door glass with ease.
I made sure the glass and my suction cup was cleaned with glass cleaner before I used these to help pick up my back door glass which weighs about 20 LBS. They worked well!!! Just a little adviceâ¦I Made sure I sprayed glass cleaner on the suction cup and wipe them clean after after I unpacked them from the box, to get the new film off the rubber cups. Also, clean them before each use. Always make sure the glass is cleaned from any debris. I also Stored the suction cups at room temperature after using them. Remember⦠Cold temperatures tends to harden rubber.

Solid suction
My second set Iâve bought. First set went with my boat was stolen. I was so impressed that when I got a replacement boat, I bought another set. I use them on my Yamaha 242xe boat to secure the tube when cruising. The suction on the vips is strong enough to hold a three person tube, on the back of the boat, at 48 mph. Never had one come loose, never had to retrieve a lost tube. The surface does have to be flat and clean. A little (very little) water on the suction cup helps to get a secure grip. Only draw back is that one time I left it connected for a week and when I removed it, it left a black ring on the white fiberglass. It was easily rectified by a simple coat of wax. Took all of about a minute to remove the black ring. I would suggest, 1) waxing the area prior to using, and 2) donât leave it on for a week in the sun.

They work, but don’t use them on each other to store them.
Used them to fix my TV. They worked great. Put them together for storage, realized I missed something and needed to take the LED screen off again, undid one suction cup from the other and it exploded. They weren’t old and used a lot either. Got them just for the TV and they broke that fast.I realize that’s user error and won’t be doing that next time, but I thought they’d be stronger than that.

Strong Construction & Suction
Materials and design make this suction cup look like it will easily outlive its owner. “Suction power” once in place ain’t goin’ nowhere until purposely undone by opening the handles. Closing the handles to create the suction on any truly flat smooth surface I personally would not describe as “Easy to use” (4 of 5 stars), due to some arthritis in my left hand. Without a doubt, a two-handed job: Pressing the cup against the surface location while closing the two handles involved a bit of manual gyration at first, but succeeded on the first try. I agree with seller’s post-sale advice to be careful not to pinch a finger when closing the handles against quite a strong spring, though I avoided this risk without benefit of the advice, by simply paying attention. Currently using 2 of the nearly 5 inch cups to provide additional steadiness in my acrylic shower unit, though eyeballing a smallish dent in my car door, for possible pulling outward. Suction to the max on the acrylic shower walls. For what it’s worth, before applying the cups to the surface, I wiped the rubber with denatured alcohol, let it dry, then wet the cups with tap water before pressing them against the desired locations, and closing the handles. Well designed and made of strong materials — I highly recommend.
