    Soft and comfortable
These are really soft and comfy. Not hard or uncomfortable like some others have said. It’s a really soft silicone and I don’t feel and discomfort with these. My milk has not come in yet so I can’t say for the suction but they are comfy which is huge

    Doesn’t work, not worth it.
I was excited and really wanted these to work. I usually use the original Haakaa and wanted something that could fit in my bra while feeding. I have spilled the original haakaa quit a few times due to it getting hit. I usually get about 1oz from 1 side with the original haakaa. When I used the shells I got maybe 0.5oz. They wouldn’t stay suctioned on good. I tried them several different times and ways, I even had my husband try and place them on to see if it was just me doing it wrong but they just wouldn’t work good. The idea is good but I don’t believe they work like they are suppose to. They ended up being a waste of time and money since I can’t return them, which I didn’t realize until I went to return them.

    Catches so much!
I didn’t realize how much milk I was wasting into my bra before this. While breastfeeding, I use the original haakaa on the opposite side. Of I know I won’t be able to breastfeed for a while, I’ll put these on (I got 2, purchased separately) & collect what I can. I add a little suction, and I got double what I usually pump out, in just about 2 hours of wearing these! Has that just leaked into my nursing pads all this time?! There’s definitely suction, so not all of that would’ve leached, but I can’t imagine how much I’ve lost & didn’t know it.They do augment and discolor the nipple (made me worried when i took them off), and my baby had nipple confusion and rejected it after using these for a couple hours. Everything went back to normal overnight. I have to make sure I either use these with the tiniest bit of suction, or not use them at all if I’m going to breastfeed later. I have other “shells” that don’t have suction that I might use instead, but you’re still going to get the misshapen nipple after use of products like this.Anyways, I still use them daily, I just plan ahead of breastfeeding based on how my body reacts. Definitely recommend!

Better suited as a collector than a pump and here is why
Let me start off by saying I own the original Haakaa which has been perfect for me to pop on in the mornings to get my let down started and take care of the baby before I can pump. Saves me from wasting milk by leaking everywhere.I bought these new Haakaa wearable shell pumps/collectors to be more on the go and discrete at work so I don’t have to stop what I’m doing to go use my electric pump for 30mins.Unfortunately, I have found these don’t like to stay on your breast as well as the original Haakaa. Suction is very minimal in comparison. I only collected about 0.5oz from both sides combined for the hour I wore these. With the original I’d collect 1.5-2oz or so within 15mins.Emptying these also isn’t as easy. The holes are small. I ended up spilling most of it which is frustrating.Cleaning is easy but seems to hold condensation for hours. You can kind of see in my photos and video.I will say there are some positives. The size and comfort of wearing are perfect for on the go.I would not recommend these as your only pump option. I would say these are better as collectors rather than an actual pump.Personally I would have rather bought a second original Haakaa over these.

Best for use while breastfeeding baby, but not as a stand-alone pump.
Overall, it works about as well as the normal Hakaa pump, and is certainly a worthy investment for convenience. Detailed thoughts and tips to follow.Photos 1 & 2: first try. 1-2 ounces with “attach & go” method.Photos 3 & 4: second try. 2-3 ounces with repeated adjustment of pressure.Photo 5: easy to empty & cleans well, but does hold moisture. Dry it out manually.Because the suction isn’t rhythmic, this won’t start a let down on it’s own. Once a let down starts, however, it will empty whatever is easily available within your breast. I have the 4 ounce model, and it emptied my breast the second time.In other words: it will empty a breast while you are actively nursing the baby, but do not substitute this for an actual pump. This would be ideal for single breast feeders (like me) whose baby can get a full tummy on 1 breast as it can attached the breast not being used for this feeding.Tips:1. Ensure the plug is all the way in, or you won’t have suction. This takes a bit of focused effort as the plug has a lip on it.2. To attach: make certain you press firmly into your breast to create suction. My 8 year old thought my breast “farting” was hilarious (I didn’t know she was there until she started cackling). That means it’s on correctly. Release pressure in subtle increments to get it comfortable. Clasp your bra over the shell. At the highest suction, it will stay on, but even a slight release of pressure will keep that from happening, so use your bra to keep it in place.3. Do not leave it on for longer than your baby nurses, or too vacuumed to your nipple, or you will experience pain the next time you nurse. I’d suggest not leaving it on for more than 15 minutes. Release suction if it’s on for longer than that. Empty it out when baby is done nursing.4. To remove: tilt forward, keeping your hand on the shell, and subtly release the pressure while tilting forward slightly. This will prevent spills.5. This is quite obvious under a bra, so I’d suggest doing this at home, or purchasing 2 for a “boob job” look while out & about.6. Keep a bottle or bags for milk collected. That’s about it.
