This comb really works!
My elder (19 years old) kitty has a flea problem and as she has health issues, I didn’t want to expose her to flea prevention medications. I got this flea comb to see if I can control fleas this way. I am amazed how well it works and is easy to use! Also, it is gentle on the skin as it has rounded tips so is not harsh on my princess’s bony frame! I was just brushing her gently and fleas were trapped on the comb! Then I placed the comb in the dish filled with water mixed with dish detergent to start killing them and trap before removing from comb while the comb was in water (so the fleas wouldn’t just jump back on my kitty!). And my kitty likes the brushing, too! In 3 days of combing my girl just a couple times a day , I went from catching close to 30 fleas to just 1! And my girl sleeps now more peacefully and doesn’t scratch as much – so the comb must be working!! I am planning to brush my kitty with this comb every day to catch any new ones that may dare to bother my princess.

I originally bought a regular one-row flea comb at a pet store. It worked occasionally, but often I’d be able to see a flea and still not get it out of my 3.5 month old kittens’ fur. I hesitated to buy this one–I couldn’t tell from the reviews if it would work on kittens, and I was beginning to wonder if it was just kitten fur being difficult to remove fleas from that was my problem–but I’m so glad I did. So glad that I’m leaving a review on a flea comb of all things! This thing works…it gets all the fleas I can see, and then a ton that I can’t until see them in the comb. Today was Day 5 of using it, and I could only find one flea on each kitten. That’s down from 30 on the first day. The only downside was that I had a brand new, seemingly useless regular flea comb on my hands…but then I discovered that you can use it to push the fleas caught between the rows of teeth down into your cup of soapy water. This really speeds the process up, so I’m glad to have both. Also, the kittens love being combed with it.

Strong, effective flea comb
If I could give this 4.5 stars, I would. I love the ease of use, the effectiveness and the size. I do not love that it’s difficult to clean.When I got this, I began using it immediately on my wiry haired pug mix. It picked out every flea on her neck, however, as I was attempting to clean the comb and move on to another area, fleas were crawling out of the space between the rows of combs. It’s a small space, so I hadn’t thought that’d be an issue. I had a container of soapy bleach water nearby that I quickly swished the comb through to clean it out. That worked.I then bathed my dog before combing her again. At this point, I was getting dead fleas, so escapees weren’t an issue. This comb is incredibly effective in removing fleas. I am very pleased with my purchase and if I ever need to replace this comb, I will repurchase this same kind. I don’t anticipate needing to replace it any time soon though. This comb is well made and stands up to being thrown against a brick wall by a naughty toddler tantrum. 🙂

Great product but not as sturdy as Iâd like.
Product works well, and seems to be gentle on their skin. Even my dogs who hate being combed donât mind this one. It really picks up a lot of fleas and debris. But I had a few teeth come loose and fall out within the first few minutes of using it. Itâs still usable, but it doesnât work as well now. That is why I didnât give it 5 stars.

Best comb for doggie eye boogers!
I recently bought this flea comb to help clean around the my dogs eyes, and itâs been a game changer! Itâs the perfect size for gently removing those stubborn gunk spots around his eyes without hurting him. The fine teeth of the comb catch all the little bits and do a much better job than any cloth or tissue Iâve tried before. My dog usually hates being groomed around his eyes, but he stays surprisingly calm when I use this comb, which says a lot! Itâs also super easy to clean, and I love that I can use it for other grooming needs too. Highly recommend this little toolâitâs a must-have for any dog parent dealing with eye boogers!

The teeth are so much closer than the regular flea combs. It traps the smallest of fleas. Even flea dirt. My Persian cat doesn’t mind this one, because of the rounded teeth. I know fleas are much easier to prevent, than to control. However, when it does happen, you will want the Hertzko at the ready. Grip/handle makes combing easier, too, I held this up to my standard comb, and was startled at the spacing difference. You can’t see through this one! It gets everything. These teeth are so much closer together, and shorter. Easier to use, on the thick coat of my cat, even when she is sporting a “Lion Cut.” My cat doesn’t run when she sees the Hertzko. It has caught large & small fleas, and larvae. Since using, I have also used it for the mats that sometimes occur behind the ears, legs. That was a nice surprise. It will be standard fare among my grooming tools, for sure!Best little comb ever —

I have four fur babies, two dogs and two cats and without question fleas are a problem at my house. Even with regular flea treatment these tiny pests can cause a huge problem. One of my dogs is very allergic to them, so even just a couple of fleas will cause her to lose her fur. My two dogs have similar fur, medium length, and I have a short haired cat and a long haired cat. Here are my thoughts on it:This flea comb seems to work great for what I have used it for. It has two rows of teeth on the comb so even if the flea manages to slip past the first row I often find them stuck between the two rows in the middle. The handle is alright, nothing special just a basic plastic handle.This comb works perfectly for my dogs, medium length fur. they are labs so it can tend to be a little thicker in some regions than in others. I was able to comb out the fleas fairly easily. It worked well on both of my cats as well, easily pulling out fleas and their associated dander.

I don’t usually bother leaving reviews but this flea comb is great. We have a long-haired cat (Norwegian Forest type) and I couldn’t get our previous flea comb through his thick fur. This one slides through beautifully and removes the fleas. You can then squish them with your nail against the purple handle, if you wish. The cat loves it so we can do it daily and keep the fleas down.
