It’s worth it, especially when swaddling little ones, to pay a little extra for certified organic. This means you receive a blanket made as purely as possible to nestle against the skin of your beautiful newborn. This blanket does this, and more! It’s gorgeously made and the deep rose pink color of the one I received it glowing and soft at the same time.Some reviewers point out that it doesn’t feel totally soft. I think that’s a matter of personal preference and perception, so I can’t disagree that this isn’t THE softest especially if you’re used to fleece blankets (made with unnatural synthetic fibers, by the way – fleece – but still, many of us love fleece including me). What I love is that cotton is a natural fiber and I think it’s great for both babies and us bigger people.This IS a soft blanket. It has a “want-to-squish-it-up-and-snuggle” feel to it, and I think most babies and toddlers will adore it. It could become the one they always grab and toddle around the house with. It has that “security” blanket feel to it, and it will only grow softer and more well-loved over time. It is also made well, so I would anticipate that it would hold up to several washings. Personally, I would air dry it as it is lightweight enough to dry quickly. I would never use anything chemical on it (dryer sheets are toxic and coat our clothing with chemicals – we don’t need chemicals against our skin all day). Just wash and either cool tumble dry or hang to dry.I have seen many little ones over the years (working with children in different settings) who latch onto a favorite blanket, and I could see this particular blanket becoming THE one. I would always pay a little extra for a GOTS-certified organic product and you can’t go wrong getting this for your child or as a beautiful gift for any newborn.All that said, I ordered this for a different purpose, and some of the photos show why. I held it up against a window so you can see the light shining through this beautiful fabric. I decided to use this fabric as a single panel to cover a small window in a bedroom. It beautifully filters the light while providing some protection from the sun, and on a warm day with a light breeze (anticipated this coming spring), I can just see this gorgeous rose-colored cotton gently billowing.Great blanket, great fabric, top rating! I was thrilled to learn about this company. Their products are all ethically produced. Meaning, “Fairtrade and GOTS certified organic. When you choose Fairtrade, you choose people â factory workers and organic cotton farmers are paid a fair living wage. When you choose GOTS, you choose the planet â earth-friendly farming practices without the use of harmful chemicals or toxic pesticides.” This company empowers Indian women, by “hiring 100% women for final inspection and packing in order to increase social status in their local communities.” And, they donate monthly to a variety of charities. What this means to me is that they truly put their money where their mouth is.It sure isnât hard to want to support a company like this when their product is so great. My babies are grown, but when they were little they loved to be swaddled. And boy were they messy. And sometimes it was chilly for them. This multi-purpose product cuts down on all the necessities you have to haul around because just one of these blankets can be a bib, a swaddling cloth, a napkin, a blanket, even a last-minute outfit change in case of the dreaded blow out. They are thin enough that you can roll up one or two and pop them in your diaper bag, soft and pure enough that you feel good putting them next to your baby’s skin, big enough to get the job done, and user-friendly enough to be machine wash and dryable.The colors and soft and soothing. While there is nothing wrong with primary colors, there is just something so calming about earth tones.These are amazing, and I have found my new go-to shower gift. 🙂

a bit big, but I needed a manlier swaddle
The pic doesnt do the color justice: its that recognizable army olive drab. The cotton is really soft and very fresh and breathable; I may even end up keeping it for staying fresh during hikes and stuff. Color looks great with my tactical diaper bag.The packaging is presentable enough to be gifted, but the size is just too big for a baby. Maybe this is meant for toddlers, or maybe its meant to be folded before swaddling, but if you try to swaddle a newborn normally, its just way too big (its alteast 4 ft by 4 ft).Now I will say that the size is a slight problem, yet the greatest feature of this swaddle because the size is what gives it the versatility. It really has so many uses, and the solid colors allow it to be used by adults in non-baby scenarios (a shawl, a head cover, a couch accent etc). Like I said, ill probably use mine later on in hikes as a head cover/refresher.Obviously the versatility of this fabric is more present in baby scenarios like as a car seat cover, a changing blanket, or as (you guessed it) a swaddle. Also the fact that its oversized allows for winter use because folding it adds thickness, which makes a huge difference in heat retention, and you cant do that with smaller muslin blankets.Honestly, you cant have too many of these. Theyre great quality and they work wonders at keeping you either fresh or warm (I guess you could say its an excellent temp regulator). Get yourself all the colors you like, youll end up using them for a dozen other things once baby grows.Update: I used it during a hike at red rock in Nevada during the intense heat and it worked wonders! It is now an essential part of my hiking gear, cannot recommend it enough
