Customers say
Customers find that the pet supplies work well for their dogs. They mention it works best with a harness rather than a collar. However, some customers have reported issues with retractability and tension. The spring doesn’t easily retract, and the tension is too strong for some dogs. There are mixed opinions on durability, size, and sturdiness.

Compact and flexible
I wanted my dog to be able to hang out in the front yard with us and run around. This was the perfect solution! Itâs sturdy and the spike is deep enough that it doesnât pull out at all or even lean. It rotates around so he can move easily and the flexible length is great.

Works great for temp install using bungee cords
Used to tether my dog at campsite. Attached to my RV rail by the door with bungee cords and works excellent for my 23lb Mini Aussie. . She no longer gets tangled up. And is not able to chew it and break it as she did with the retractable leash used previously. Very pleased with this purchase

Great, but donât hold up and pricy!
We love this product but itâs April and we bought them in Sept: One stopped retracting and on both the plastic is coming off and wires are frayed. They are really easy to use and are great for our dogs but they are pricey for the issues I listed.

Poor quality. 90-day shelf life.
I bought this for my 35 pound dog. My dog averaged about 10/15 minutes of usage, twice a day. Within a month or so, the retractable spring started showing signs of deterioration and never stopped. I added a light coating of WD-40 to protect metal parts. That helped by reducing friction, making it easier for the cable to retract. As the deterioration continued, the cable would retract less and less. The images show what is what it looks like after four months of light use.Off to the recycling â»ï¸ center.

Clean design, but pulls dog too hard
I bought this model because it was a great way to minimize my pup getting caught in the cord while outside with me. My goal was to have a 360 / retractable lead with a clean look on the lawn. Here are my conclusions after 3 weeks:The Retractable/360 element is somewhat helpful. Dogs are not likely to get tangled up back and forth on the cord itself. I liked that this model also came with a cord instead of some that were just 360 swivels. The circular piece makes for a clean look on the lawn – keeps the cord from getting in the way while mowing. Itâs big enough that we donât miss it but itâs not unsightly.Unfortunately, the nature of this retractable lead is that it constantly pulls on your dog. I got the medium first, and quickly learned that my beagle is constantly uncomfortable. A harness would probably help, but I worry about strain in his neck with a normal collar. When larger dogs visit, it is a less significant tug but still not good for casual outdoor doggy naps. There is a small rubber piece to keep the leash extended and give them some relief, but that somewhat defeats the point. The rubber stopper has also worn out (after around 2 weeks of daily use) to the point that it will slowly slide back down the cord.I ended up buying a small model for my beagle to see if that will pull less hard. He is around 30lbs (a bit overweight). If that solves it, Iâll update here!

RETRACTABLE 20FT
The Lixit Bracket Mount and Stake Retractable Leash Tie Out (Medium) is a real handy tool for us dog owners down here. It gives our pups room to roam while keepin’ ’em safe and sound within their boundaries. The retractable feature is a nice touch, makin’ it easy to adjust as needed. Installing it was a breeze, and it’s built sturdy enough to handle our playful dogs without a hitch. Overall, it’s a reliable choice for keepin’ our furry friends safe during outdoor adventures. Highly recommended, y’all!

Works great
Our big boys (100lb ea) love having the freedom to check out the surroundings. Theyâre only on a lead when we travel and always supervised but I can attest to the durability as they have attempted to do some squirrel chasing! I love that I can put them, I have two tie outs, just far enough apart that the boys can lay close to each other but not get tangled up.

We have 2 dogs that we take to the trailer with us regularly, and they need to be leashed at all times. When we just had them both on screw in anchors they got tangled regularly(they play constantly). Since putting the smaller dog(52lbs) on this retractor weâve had a lot less issues. Build quality seems good so far, weâve been using for almost 2 months now with no issues. And bulldogs are notoriously hard on equipment as theyâre such strong little balls of muscle. Installation was easy mounted to the side of our deck, and Iâve checked it several times with no sign of screws pulling loose. Weâre getting another one for our sheep dog.

I have 2 large afghan hounds, and they make good rough use out of these. We have ours hooked up to a zip line spanning the length of our yard, and they will run back and forth slamming the reel in to the edges of the line. With that kind of daily use, we replace these once a year. Even after the year, they are still in good shape, however, age, and weather, along with rough use, makes it a greater risk of failure. I buy 2 of these every year. Worth it!! If you are just using it as a standard tie out with no regular stress or tension, they will most likely last longer. Do NOT use the screws that come with the unit! Use longer screws as the ones that come with the reel are NOT deep enough to hold.

Unfortunately the tension was way to strong for my 13lb dog

Item idea is great. Used it under a week and itâs completely stopped the issues we were having with our old tie out. Weâve used it under a week though and the corrosion is extensive. Itâs not from scrapes or being dropped either and we have a lurtcher so the item isnât near the ground. Unfortunately disappointed at the quality of the clip and some parts of the black outer casing has started to âblisterâ
