Sizes
Each shape is available in 3 sizes (and 7 colors!). You can see the relative size difference of our round shaped tag, here in the hand of a relatively normal sized humanoid. Roughly speaking, the Small is a bit bigger than a nickel. The Medium is 1/8″ bigger than a quarter, and the Large is 1/8″ bigger than a 50 cent coin. The dimensions for all the shapes are listed in the pull-down menu.
What To Engrave
We’ll engrave any text that fits! Normally, people follow the standard format shown on most sample tags -but you don’t have to. If you are ordering a small tag with 5 full lines of writing, we can fit it but the text will be small. Rest assured, it will still be completely readable if someone finds your lost pet. But if you prefer bigger writing, consider cutting back to just the essential information needed to contact you, like the sample pic here.
We will resize and center as much or as little text as you submit.
We use all CAPITAL letters (unless you send us a message to do otherwise).
What Durable Engraving Looks Like
We use 1/8″ thick, 3-ply plastic. That means it has 2 colored layers (front and back) sandwiching a contrasting color in the middle. The outside layers are made from tough, scratch resistant acrylic. The center core is made of nearly bullet-proof ABS. Both plastics are safe for pets (even if they chew a little!) and the colors won’t stain your pet’s fur.
You can see in this picture how we engrave through the front layer to expose the contrasting core color. Some tag companies laser engrave onto “laserable plastic”. It’s really fast. We tried it too but we had to pass on it; in order to make the new plastic work for lasers, they had to make the outer layers much thinner. As you can guess, the thinner layers don’t last as long.

How do we know our tags are tougher? Because we test them. We built “Robo-Dog” over 25 years ago to torture test our tags against the competition. Is anyone else crazy enough to do this? Robo-Dog jangles and shakes tags against each other at a frenetic pace to simulate years of normal wear in a matter of hours. Plastic holds up, aluminum doesn’t.

Best pet tags! Super durable and well made.

We have had dogs through the YEARS & used this brand of tag for them most often, so when we got a puppy, we decided to buy the same brand again.The puppy has TRIED to chew the tag while wearing it & she has failed to be able to reach it. I hope that is just the “puppy” in her & not a sign of what’s to come because the other dogs we had through the years NEVER tried to eat their tag. lolAnyway, the tag is EASY to read, DURABLE (the writing is very CRISP), & SILENT.. NO jangling tag to wake up the sleeping baby, kids, hubby, etc when the dog decides to shake at the worst times, which ALWAYS seems to be right when she is standing next to someone who is SLEEPING.She can now move through the house in stealth mode, aside from the fact that she walks as loud as a human, as least there is no jangling of the tag because while we are used to her & how loudly she walks, you NEVER get used to the clanking of the tag scaring the crap out of you when you are in a deep sleep & the dog just HAS to itch or spin in circles 15 times on their bed for whatever reason in the middle of the night.The tag arrived QUICKLY & there were no issues.We WILL use this company again for our next pet/s and/or when we relocate. Long Lasting Quality Tags
I am very pleased with these tags. They are nice looking, very sturdy, and have held up much better than the metal tags that I used to put on my dogs. The lettering on these tags does not rub off or get scratched off like the lettering on the other tags always did and even when they get muddy (my dogs swim a lot) or pulled through thick brush, they clean easily and the lettering is still intact and legible. I raise Standard Poodles and they are very active. We do a lot of hiking and hunting through very rough back woods terrain so it is important to have good tags on them. I constantly had to replace the metal tags about every 4-6 months, sometimes sooner if they broke off at the hole where the wire connector went through as it would wear thin from so much movement over time. These tags have not worn a bit and they are reinforced at the connection hole so they don’t get thin there. These are the only tags I’ll be purchasing from now on. I haven’t had to replace one yet so the price is reasonable and well worth it as far as I’m concerned. I highly recommend this product.

Sturdy light weight tags
I got these to use for rescue dogs that I foster. I wanted something that the information wouldnât rub off easily like with so many other tags Iâve purchased. Even ones that are âlaser etchedâ like you get from the little machines at the pet store. Iâm impressed by the quality of these tags. They are a lightweight plastic and the information is deeply etched into them. You can run your fingernail across it and feel how deep the etching is. I think it would take a long time for it to get worn down enough to be unreadable.The only thing negative I would say is that they are somewhat thick and the ring that comes with them is kind of small, so getting the ring onto the tags was a bit of a challenge and I ended up scraping up the back of the tag around the grommet. But I will say that the metal grommet around the hole that the ring attaches to is genius. It should keep the tags from breaking off the rings under reasonable usage. Iâm sure there are some rough and tumble doggos out there that hunt and swim and all that who will wear these babies out sooner, but for your average house dog these should last for quite some time. I plan to order more for my own dogs and future rescue foster dogs. Great product.
