Details About the LuckyPet Slide-On Tag
Curved for Better Fit and Appearance-
We take the added step of gently curving your pet’s ID tag after it is engraved. The curve matches the natural curve of your pet’s collar to conform to its shape and look like it belongs there. Flat tags make your pets collar look weird. It may seem like an unimportant detail but our attention to small details results in a higher quality pet ID tag.
Long-lasting, Readable Engraving
We use a powerful laser that blasts away the top layer of steel while also turning the layers below black. You can feel our lettering just like drag engraving but the black really makes it readable. All images, including the close-up above, show our actual engraving.
There is room for up to 5 lines of writing on each size. If you choose less than 5 lines, we will automatically make the writing bigger and centered.
Will Your Pet’s Collar Fit?
This style tag is designed to work with single-ply nylon collars (one layer of material) but should work with any collar that is less than 1/8” thick. That is about the thickness of a stack of two pennies. Most leather collars will be too thick and are not pliable enough to weave neatly through the slots on the tag. We offer a Rivet-On Style tag that may work for thicker collars.
Our Small Size is 1-3/8” wide by 5/8” tall and fits perfectly on a 3/8” wide collar as long as it is under 1/8” (two pennies) thick.
Our Medium Size is 1-5/8” wide by 7/8” tall and fits perfectly on a 5/8” wide collar as long as it is under 1/8” (two pennies) thick.
Our Medium Plus Size is 1-3/4″ wide by 1″ tall and fits perfectly on a 3/4″ wide collar as long as it is under 1/8″ (two pennies) thick.
Our Large Size is 2” wide by 1-1/4” tall and fits perfectly on a 1” wide collar as long as it is under 1/8” (two pennies) thick.
Do You Need Open or Closed Sides? Read This:
Choose the Proper Style-
We offer each size tag in an Open Style and Closed Style referring to the slots on the sides of the tag; both styles look exactly the same from the front.
The Closed Style
The Closed Style is designed for belt buckle style collars that are open on one end. You slide your pet’s collar in one slot and out the other. That’s it!
You may also use the Open Style on this type of collar. It will work fine and stay on just as well. Plus, you may want to transfer it to another collar that doesn’t have an open end.
The Open Style
If your pet’s collar does not have an “open end” (such as a snap-together type collar) you must choose our Open Style tag. To install, you pinch the collar and squeeze it into the opening in the slots on the tag.
Once the tag is in place and the collar is pulled tight against the back of the tag, it is very secure and will not fall off. The toughness of stainless steel and the thickness of our tags combine to make the ears very strong. Aluminum or thinner stainless tags can bend and allow the tag to fall off.

Great quality! Easy to read
I was so happy with these that I ordered more copies for additional colors. They are very sturdy slightly thicker metal that doesnât bend. Deep engraving that does not wear off, and easily slide onto bio collars. They will not fit on thick nylon or leather collar. A thin belt or bio thing is probably best for them. My dogs donât jingle anymore! They cannot lose the tags. And they are not cheap flimsy tags that the cheap engraving wears off of. These will last for decades. I am extremely happy with them. Highly recommend

Fantastic pet ID tags
We originally ordered a pair of these LuckyPet Slide-On Pet ID Tags for our dog’s collar since she was constantly licking the handing ID tags we had to the point where they were unreadable AND we are fairly sure that that much metal is not good for her. These tags sit flush with her collar, and therefore are not available for her tongue! These are very well made, have an excellent finish on them, and are very easy to read. When we got rid of our landline and decided to go entirely with our cell phones, we had to order a new tag with the new phone numbers on it, and we ordered from this company again – which is testament to just how highly we think of this company and their products.Another positive about this tag is that, unlike those which hang loosely down via an S clip, which may pull apart and loose the tag, these tags are, by virtue of their style, impossible to fall off and be lost. The whole purpose of a tag is to be able to reunite with your pet should he/she get loose, and the last thing you want is for them to be running loose, get their tag snagged on something and pull off. How many pets are destroyed each year because they don’t have a tag on them? (Answer: Any number is too many!)A few VERY important things to note. First, the collar MUST NOT HAVE A QUICK CONNECTOR as you need a connector-free end to feed through the tag (see photo). Second, the thicker the collar the more difficult it will be to feed the tag along the collar. If the collar is more than 7/32″ thick, it will not fit through the tag openings. Likewise, collars that are more than 7/8″ wide will be difficult, if not impossible, to feed through the tag openings. And as you can see from the photo, the collar must be fed through the tag twice! Since most of the collars available these days have the quick-connect “pinch” connectors, if you decide to go with this tag style, you will most likely need to purchase a new collar as well. Don’t be cheap – after all, your pet IS a member of your family so don’t hesitate to spend a few more bucks on ’em!

SUPER NICE and heavy – well engraved ID tag for my dog’s collar!!
So nice and well made – metal is thick and shiny, and engraving is well done and looks great! Fits my dog’s 1″ biothane collar perfectly!

Happy with this!
After spending money on dozens of collars and tags over the years for pet who does everything in his power to chew them off/scratch them/damage them, I opted for a very minimal collar, and I needed a very minimal/unobtrusive tag to match. Now, when he inevitably ruins his current collar, I can at least replace it and slip this tag on any new collar I give him. It fits his leather 3/8″ collar very well, and it’s not going to annoy him like a traditional dangle tag does.I saw complaints about the tag being sharp, but I had no such issue. I took all the edges of the tag and raked it up and down the skin of my arm, and it didn’t cut the skin or leave a mark even when I pressed down quite a bit with it.The quality of the engraving seems nice as well. It’s deeper into the metal than I thought it’d be, and I hope it holds up with time and the daily neck scratching my pet does. I’ll update this review though if anything changes.

Love these
After my dog caught her hanging tag in the carpet and ripped it off I bought these. They look great and are easy to put on. They seem very secure so far. Look very nice and easy to read

Great tag
This little tag has held up SO well on our extremely active lab. She runs, she rolls in the dirt, she tugs and still the tag stays on and stays legible. Would definitely recommend this

I ordered a closed 1 inch tag – customise now button wasnât available to customise – and when it did arrive it doesnât fit a standard 1 inch collar – collars now have a thicker more comfortable lining which cannot fit the narrow eye of the tag and it even spoilt my leather collar at the edgesInner edges are not polished wellOverall quality is also not so goodFont used is bad
