REVISED REVIEW: Received USED, TORN, dirty harness
REVISED REVIEW: After receiving my first harness that was a used harness someone returned, I reached out to the company ROAM and received a response very quickly. Obviously they cannot control Amazonâs process and poor processes, but they were apologetic and wanted to replace it free of charge and gave a regular matching ROAM dog collar free of charge. I was very impressed with their customer service. So far the harness has been great. It fits my 5 month old English cream golden retriever well (size 3 currently) and still has a lot of room to grow with it. Size 3 is the last size where the material is 1â I believe. The matching collar in the bigger 1.5â looked to big/stiff and uncomfortable for her. The fit is great. She doesnât seem to notice it on until she pulls on the leash. The overall energy from pulling impacts her core body and NOT just her neck. Lots of padding in the right places and have had no running problems. The buckles are very durable, yet are very smooth with clipping it on and off.ROAM is a great harness made by a good company with excellent customer service. Amazon should be held accountable for all their errors they make that cost customers and the product maker time and money yet Amazon gets off free for being lazy.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Complete disbelief when I opened my ROAM package to find obviously a returned, torn, dirty harness or maybe a disgruntled Amazon/ROAM employee? Regardless, it may be silly, but I was excited for this harness to come to go pick up my new English Cream Golden puppy from across the US. Iâve looked at the colors, the hardware, measurements- all to fit her perfect and keep her safe (of course she would have looked amazing in it too ð) and now Iâm stuck with making due findings something on the way.How does this happen? Is there no quality control? Nobody check items that are returned or sent out to customers?!!Iâve reached out to the company to hopefully get a âNewâ harness.I purchased 1- 48â leash, 1 – 60â leash, a size 4 Explorer harness and a size 5- all to make sure I would have the correct sizing and fit to bring her home & the plan still failed :/Overall I could tell the quality of materials on seems top notch. Colors are beautiful, buckles open and close very easily and smooth. However it does appear the material was no match for a pooch who wanted loose to go on an adventure!

I never take the time to leave reviews, but I just had to with the Made To Roam products. I’m in love with the colors and the quality! I ordered 2 sets of the collar, harness and leash for my mini golden doodle and golden retriever. First let me say, I looked at the reviews to try to help with ordering the right size, because most times when I order items for my dogs, sizing guides are not correct. Honestly, the reviews just had me second guessing myself, so I took a chance on the sizing guide and used a string to measure each of my dogs and then used these measurements to order. I was astounded that both collars and harnesses fit to true size! For my 1 year old mini doodle, I purchased the 2.5 collar and 3 harness and both fit great! I probably could have gone up to a 3 in the collar, but they were out of stock on that size in the color I wanted. For my 2 year old golden retriever, I purchased the 4 collar and 5 harness. I could have gone up a size in the harness, but the 5 does fit perfectly. I prefer less bulkiness if possible. The quality is great! My golden’s last harness was so bulky and was even chafing his skin. These are very light weight and have padding on the inside. I also love the durable metal locking mechanisms. My dogs are chewers and have chewed plastic locks before. Also, before having a fenced in yard, I would tie my dogs out on leads to play outside and on one occasion my golden’s collar broke loose (which is why I invested in a fence), so I appreciate these metal locks on both the collars and harnesses when walking them.

The harness, although pricier than similar products on the market, offers exceptional quality and value. Its design is simple yet robust, featuring adjustable straps that ensure a secure fit. The harness feels incredibly durable, giving me confidence that it will withstand wear and tear. All the clasps are made of sturdy black metal (although one picture might make them appear chrome-like due to reflection, a closer look reveals their true color). The interior padding is soft and comfortable for my pet. Impressively, when I reached out to customer support on a Sunday, they responded within 30 minutes. My only minor complaint is regarding the leather handle. While the handle itself is attached securely, it has a small leather flap that protrudes and appears slightly misaligned. However, this is a relatively insignificant flaw in an otherwise outstanding product.

Get the correct size!
This is truly a fantastic harness. I originally ordered a size 5 for my 50 lb Husky, and it was definitely too big. Perhaps that was my error for not understanding how to measure properly, but I feel that the size 5 is definitely overbuilt, heavy duty, and meant for a much larger dog. It’s about as thick and heavy as a rock climbing harness for an adult man!Anyway, I exchanged for a size 4 and it fits perfectly, and is way less heavy and overbuilt. This one is lightweight, flexible, and fits my Husky perfectly. I love the metal cobra-style buckles, the adjustability, and the styling.I anticipate that this harness is going to last a very long time. I mainly use it when strapping him in for drives, and for skating and biking with him. Otherwise I use a martingale collar for normal walks.Excellent quality from Built to Roam, and I’m going to be getting a collar from them for sure, also looking at their dog bed when the time comes.

Esta pechera esta muy bonita y de buena calidad, ligera pero resistente y no se abulta mucho si el perro usa sweater o impermeable. Muy bien hecha en general, los broches son metalicos (de quick release) y todo pero me pareció levemente cara.

was struggling to find a harness suitable for my 11m/o husky/australian shepherd mix, as he runs with/pulls on occasion my bike, so it needs to have some kind of padding and enough armpit clearance to be comfortable with how much running he does, happy to say after taking it for a spin this one seems to be perfect!! he’s pulling more now- which in this case is a good thing and means hes more comfortable than his old harness.super easy to put on him/adjust, even though he is very wiggly. the handle is also appreciated as he is a puppy who needs one currently, also very useful to string the line that attaches his collar to the bike through, to keep it out of the way of his legs while running!very strongly built, doesn’t feel weak at all, he’s hard on stuff i get him having gone through 2 leashes in the 3 months i’ve had him, so i knew whatever harness i got would have to be pretty heavy duty, i think this will last a decently long time from what i’ve seen of it so far, really happy with it!also- arrived super quickly, less than a week which was wonderful!

We travelled with our dogs and wanted a harness that was comfortable, well made, sturdy and good looking! This was the perfect harness for our big chested Dalmatian and it was perfect for our Australian Shepherd as well! They were comfortable and we loved the handle to help them on and off transits, gondolas and in and out of the car. I recommend 100x over! They did tons of swimming, running, walking and we are home and itâs still in perfect condition. They didnât have any armpit rubs and were comfortable sleeping in the car, or hanging out on patios. 10/10

*ORIGINAL REVIEW*I purchased this harness because I love the Roam collar/leash I’ve had for the past year. The harness is very nice, the handle is great and it’s easy to get on and off. It seems very comfortable on my dog. I’m confident this will last awhile even with my big, rough and tumble dog.However, the colour is off and I am very disappointed by this. I ordered the Texas Flair colour, and as you can see in my pictures, it is bright red and not the dark burnt orange as advertised. I would’ve have preferred a darker, more muted colour than what I received because my dog rolls around a lot and now I am forced to clean the harness frequently.*UPDATED REVIEW*I updated this review from 3 to 5 stars because the seller reached out to me and not only offered a refund, they also offered to send me a replacement in another colour. Which is beyond generous. They were kind enough to recommend colours with a description that may work better for me and my pooch. I am completely blown away by this level of customer service. I have not received the new harness yet but I have no doubt it’ll be a better fit for what I need. I will continue to be a repeat customer of this lovely business and recommend them to other dog owners.

Really happy with the look and feel of this harness! I got a size 3 for my 20lb shiba and it fits her perfectly. It feels very sturdy and the clips are secure.
