Customers say

Customers find the toy building blocks a good value for money. They find the colorful designs and graphics eye-catching. The blocks are fun for kids to play with and nest the smaller ones in the larger ones. Many appreciate the learning value, stackability, and gift value. However, some customers find the cardboard material too thick and hard, similar to shoe boxes. Opinions vary on durability.

Awesome toy that grows with your child
This toy has been loved by all 3 of my children. We got it for our first baby who loved knocking them all over when we stacked them. Then children are able to nest the blocks and stack them themselves. Now our 6 and 5 year old stack them up for the baby to knock over. I love that it is a toy that grows with our family. It is educational and helps promote many skills for them. Cause and effect, motor skills, learning about animals and letters. Melissa and Doug have come out with a wooden version of this toy that also looks super cool and if this set ever does give out, I would buy the wooden one. These are made from a sturdy cardboard. We have had ours for 7 years and there’s wear and tear on the corners but they are still in great condition with lots of play left. I recently bought a set for my friend’s 1 year old. Great price for a great, long lasting toy. I love Melissa and Doug.

    Great toy for kids!
This toy is great for toddlers and their motor skills. My daughter loved these. These were so easy to use easy to put away. The material was made a cardboard, but it had a nice film on it so it didn’t have any tacks to it when wet. The shapes were all nicely still intact. I had no boxes, bent or messed up in transit. And overall, when they’re all stacked on top of each other, it really looks great. My daughter had a blast with them. I had to purchase these two times for her.

    Appeals to children
The boxes are educational – letters and numbers – and multifunctional . They can be stacked and knocked down, lined up, used singly or in groups. They can hold small items, be moved around, used as a target for a soft ball, and so on. Very imaginative. The child using them is one but they can be used for ages 2 and 3 as well.

Pretty, but flimsy and made of cardboard
The first thing you should know about these blocks, which you may already if you’re more observant than me, is that they are made of cardboard. I bought these for my 10 month old as she seems to be nearing the ‘stacking’ phase and I thought they’d be fun. Unfortunately, she’s still in the ‘puts everything in her mouth’ phase, too, and has gone to town sucking on the edges of the smallest block. These do not hold up well for a sucking baby.If your child is a bit older and not privy to sucking on things, these will probably last a bit longer although I’m guessing not forever. They are pretty and fun to look at with lots of alphabet themed colorful designs. They stack nicely, and provide a fun physical challenge for a child. If you want something lightweight, totally non-dangerous, and cheap, these are great stacking blocks and will be loved by careful children. If you want something sturdy for a younger child, these are not it.

    Lasted years!
I ended up purchasing these on Amazon after I had originally bought them from a garage sale. They lasted years for my child but now with a new baby i wanted a new set that aren’t so worn from years of play. I find that these are so worth it. Fun to stack and play with. They stack pretty high in my opinion. My kids love to build and knock over.

    Awesome Blocks for Toddlers
I love these blocks for so many reasons. My son was given a set when he was 6 months old. When I first saw them, I wasn’t too impressed by the cardboard blocks, but my son soon showed me how fun they are. As soon as he could sit up, he began touching them, trying to stack them and move them. They are hollow and have a side missing (so they can nest), which makes them very easy to pick up with little hands. They have bright graphics that are fun to look at. They pack up neatly in a small box, which makes them the perfect tote along toy. I brought these blocks with us everywhere for about 8 months. My son loved to stack them and knock them down. After much use, (18 months), they did get worn down, and a couple tore. I taped them back up, but finally decided that it was time for them to go. I just ordered a brand new set for my daughter to enjoy, and I will be giving this as a gift as well.

Not the best Melissa Doug I own!
I like the concept of nesting boxes!!! It is educational for toddlers in so many ways. I do early childhood education and use so many different tools and activities!!The quality of these are not what I expected!! It is cardboard with glossy wrapping like paper!! The peek at the corners cause the glue or adhesive is not the best! Once a toddler finds that little loose corners…. that’s it they pull it till they cannot anymore!!! Which leaves an ugly side!! I did not read the description good when I bought it, I thought it was wooden nesting boxes! I assume it was wooden cause Melissa and Doug is known for wooden toys not cardboard toys!!! With that being said this is one of the most unsatisfied Melissa Doug purchase I made! I own a lot of Melissa Doug toys!! Even the flimsy cardboard box it came in can easily fall apart! Troublesome. Not only does the paper come off easily! It is very easy to break!!!!! Toddlers are not careful! They fall they sit anywhere, some chew and put toys in their mouth….. cardboard and paper does not hold up well when wet!! This nesting boxes are not lasting even a few months! I bought them late November for my day care and it already looks like it’s been through war!!! I would not recommend these if you have multiple kids who will play with this or rough little ones!! It is not strong cardboard or durable quality!! I wouldn’t even be happy to give it as a gift!!! I think Melissa Doug should consider using wood like they do for lots of their toys!! Then maybe I would reconsider buying another set! Till then I will stay away from these …. as a fan bug of Melissa Doug, I am a little disappointed at these nesting boxes!

Beautifully designed and illustrated. It is made of cardboard with plastic covering. It’s a lovely item but can be damaged as it’s not sturdy enough if sat or rolled on by baby.

Molto bello, avrei preferito che fosse in italiano ma non l’ho trovato, comunque ha il doppio scopo di gioco, fare la torre e farla cadere va bene anche per bimbi piccoli, per i più grandi ci sono animali e alfabeto..ha bei colori
