Upgraded to this when puppy grew
I had the one they make that’s non-chewable from this same company and it was great. Puppy has grown larger and chewing has lessened, so I bought this one. It’s very sturdy and adjustable. I didn’t even know my car had car seat clips, but when I looked there they were! A simple solution to limiting your dog’s access to the car, and keeping them safe. I had a friend who got in an accident on a highway, and their dog panicked and ran off. That would be a bad situation!

Peace of mind
The first thing I noticed upon receiving the Mighty Paw Safety Belt was its quality; the design and weight in hand, substantial, and the metal fittings, both clip and carabiner, heavy-duty. I hooked the belt to one of the cargo rings in the back of my SUV and easily adjusted the length so that my medium size yellow lab (60#) can reach the back edge of the rear passenger window so she can enjoy all the scents in the wind that she adores. I like the peace of mind knowing that my gal is secure and contained. I am able to easily hook the tether’s carabiner to her safety harness and can unhook it just as effortlessly after taking hold of her attached leash, knowing that there is no way my dog will be able to exit the vehicle until under my control. The swivel action on the carabiner end helps prevent the belt from twisting which is a big plus.Of course, time will tell as far as this seat belt’s durability, but at present, I foresee it lasting for a good long time.Oh, and incidentally, while I ordered the grey color, I received the black, which is more than okay with me as black was my preferred choice but temporarily out of stock when I ordered. What with the contact emails I have received, I have no doubt that Mighty Paw would have made good on my original order if I had made an issue of it. Overall, I am very happy with this seat belt along with the security and peace of mind it brings.

To start I think this product was revised in August 2016. It was unavailable for a time and I just received what looks to be a newer version in September. This uses the LATCH system which are anchors in newer cars for child safety seats. As one who had these seats installed for years I know the anchors are very strong. I’ve seen comments about the clip on this item being flimsy. The one I received was extremely strong and looked identical to the ones on all the child seats I used.The carabiner clip as well looks to be redesigned. It is made of aluminum and looks to be well made, swivels nicely and is much easier to click onto the dog’s harness vs. the the old style lobster claw clips.I like how this can be left attached and not take up a seat belt anchor and I don’t have to worry about my kids or the dog accidentally hitting the seat belt button. I very well made and thought out product.

Solid, works as advertised
Bought this for a minivan. The clip attaches easily to the same metal loops used for baby seats, which typically allows the belt to be centered in the seat or attached to the rear of the seat. Both are good options for mini-vans and the like. The craftsmanship seems solid, particularly the two buckles, and the tangle-are clip keep she bet from twisting. Our 11 year old can attach it to the seat and dog. The belt is not long but slightly longer than some shorter doggy seat belts. The longer belt provides some additional movement for the dog, especially when he wants to lay on the floor. The best is solid enough to use as a very short leash, if needed. I would purchase again.

Happy Pups, Safe Pups, Great Trip!
Bought two of these for our Cocker and Cav. They worked well, clamped into the car seat clamp which is why I chose these, did not like the kind that go into the seat belts. Long enough for them to move around, the heavy duty clamp is “heavy” mighty paw might want to think about the same belt with a lighter clamp for smaller breeds. Best part is you can keep them connected and passengers can still use the seat belts. Paired these with the Bulldogology Premium Car seat cover and you will be able to travel with your babies safe and sound! I did not purchase the special harness, I just buckled it on to their harnesses. So much happier in the back seat rather then the cargo area of our SUV.Happy Pups, Happy Mom, Great trip!

Great product but may be too short for tall dogs
I have a collie type dog who is 56 lbs. and stands 24 inches at the shoulders. This safety belt works as described. My dog does not get tangled and it doesnât seem to interfere with his comfort. I use it with a harness (never attach to collar). If it were 1 or two inches longer, I think it would be easier for my dog (or a taller dog) to change positions during long trips. Maybe the company can offer two sizes? Otherwise, great product!
