smooth and strong!
We have a smaller dog, and this works wonderfully. I like the bright color of the unit, and cord. It is a strong material, and the reel spools out quietly, and firmly without a problem. The hand grip is comfortable, even with winter gloves, and the lock is easy to engage, or disengage. All around. it does what we need, and is ergonomically made well.

I really like this retractable leash! Itâs really smooth! Plus it has the refillable poop bag container attached! I didnât realize this until after I purchased it but what a benefit!! Unfortunately, both my dogs got tangled up with me and knocked it off while we were walking and I didnât notice it had come off until I went to take off the leash.The design itself is really nice and the leash length is perfect. It wasnât overly expensive. This particular one was built for a smaller dog, which I have a female frenchie and itâs perfect for her but if you have a larger dog, you might consider getting a bigger one. Sheâs tried chewing on it but doesnât get far.All in all, itâs a great purchase!!

Leash release mechanism issues
I like this leash a lot – so much so that I bought a green one to replace the orange one that wore out after 2 years. It’s empty long enough and is lightweight. I bought the bright green one and it is highly visible.Retractability is where it runs into trouble. The locking mechanism in the handle is very challenging to engage and release. On the older model, it was a simple one-handed flick. With this new leash, it takes both hands and a concentrated effort to get it to lock or unlock. This is not what you want to have happen if you need to urgently perform either activity.It’s entirely possible that it is a fault with this particular unit – since the first leash worked so well, I’d like to believe that. I hope that’s all it is, as otherwise this is a fine product.
Not this one for me –
Works but don’t expect it to last more than a year if your dog is over 50 pounds
Works as advertised for the most part. The no tangle swivel helps with an active dog, but isn’t even close to foolproof. The spring could be a bit stronger, especially for larger dogs. Our dog is 60 pounds and despite her training, she longs to meet any bunny or squirrel she sees, which means she pulls like a freight train when you least expect it. I’ve had it and used it daily for about 9 months. It’s beginning to fail and will need to be replaced. By fail I mean the spring is getting weaker and the retraction mechanism is starting to make a clicking sound when the leach plays out and retracts. The fabric of the leash itself is not overly stout, though it is not prone to breaking, just highly vulnerable to chewing. The first day I had it, I had our dog laying next to my chair while attached to the leash. She took about 5 seconds without me watching her to begin chewing on the leash. Luckily, I caught her and she only got one hole in it, also luckily, right in the middle of the fabric. It survived, and continues to do so, but I expect she’d have chewed through it in about 20 seconds if I hadn’t noticed. I say this because I have a similar retractable leash that she chewed through 3 times before I bought this one. It was made of very similar material.

Best recoil leash I have ever used!
I breed and train labradoodles and this is the best leash I have ever used. I have used many different brands and have had this for about a month and will see how it wears. But this far, it is extremely quiet in extending and recoil. But the most outstanding feature is the perfect amount of tension that allows even small 5 pound puppies the comfort of extending but yet the tension holds and the lead does not drag to the ground where the pup gets tangled around the feet. It stays snug when the pup slows and is a pleasure to use even though it is a good size unit. When not training, I normally walk 2 or 3 dogs at a time and having the lead snug at shoulder level is a tremendous help! In my opinion you have the market on this mechanism — whatever the secret! Thank you!

Well made functional attractive perfect
This retractable dog leash functions well. It uses a “ribbon” tether which is less prone to tangling and is stronger and more visible than a cord. The locking mechanisms work as expected. The outside is reflective. It has a little D-ring to tie a bag to it if you want. The latch attaches to the dog/collar easily and is plenty strong. The price is fair. I don’t have any criticism. It works exactly as I want this to work and I’ve bought a few of these as my dog care professionals keep taking them home. They have all been excellent quality, the leashes, not the professionals:)

Durable, long, easy to control…
I’ve had this leash now for 3 or so months and take my 50 lb. Boxer out on walks several times a day. Though he’s pretty well controlled most of the times, occasionally he’ll see a rabbit or something else that provokes his attention and he can pull hard on the line. So far, the device has held up quite well. I love the 16′ length as I can give him tons of line to explore. I do pay attention for anything that might cause him to bolt, that might force me to “put on the brakes” as when you press the button to stop giving slack to the line, you can hear plastic gears inside that lock the device down. At this point, all is holding up well, but I do wonder if over time, the internal gears will be the weak link. But for just $16 (at the time of my purchase anyway), while I would love to see this stay in service for a few years, I won’t be entirely surprised if this is a yearly purchase. In the end, I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

Broke within 2 months on a 16 pound puppy
I had gone with this style because it claimed to be sturdy and tough. Unfortunately less than 2 months after I started using it, the locking mechanism broke. If I still had my last dog, I might have understood that happening, she was a big strong dog. This broke while training a 16 # puppy. Two stars may be generous.****The product did fail, but I wanted to credit the manufacturer on following up when they heard about the problem. They reached out and refunded the leash, even though it was after the refund time. Every product can have a fail sometime, but not every manufacturer cares enough to follow up with each customer. This one did.

I have a 110lb Bernese mountain dog and we use this leash! Itâs held up great! We use the lock mechanism when crossing the road which helps! Great size for our dog and even a medium size dog!

I am so pleased with this leash. My first surprise was no âslackâ. The very first time I used it I realized I wouldnât be bending down to untangle the leash from my dogâs leg; sheâs always stopping and stepping over the leash. My second surprise was that I actually used the poo bag dispenser. LOL I absolutely thought that was a silly useless thing until the first time I reached into my pocket and didnât have a bag; but wait! I did have a bag lolGreat leash, works as expected, locks and unlocks fine. My dog doesnât pull much but she weighs 80 pounds and Iâm not sure how it would hold up to an extreme puller. Overall, Iâm very happy with this leash and consider it money well spent.
