Customers say
Customers find the product useful and convenient for freezing milk in one-ounce cubes. They find it easy to use and store, like using an ice tray. However, some customers have issues with the lid seal not closing tightly, causing spillage. There are mixed opinions on how easy it is to remove the cubes and how washable they are.

Love these trays!
We bought these trays a few weeks ago, shortly before the birth of our second child. For our oldest daughter, we always used the bags, which worked out fine, but we found ourselves wasting quite a bit of milk with those, plus they were quite expensive to purchase. Our youngest daughter is now a month old, and due to an oversupply issue, I had to pump pretty much right away. So, while I haven’t used these for an incredible amount of time, I can definitely say these are well worth buying.PROS:- Cheaper than milk storage bags. To me, this is a huge pro considering with my over supply I could easily go through 3-4 bags a day while still nursing exclusively. We just freeze them, pop out the “milk sticks,” then put them in a Ziploc and label the baggie, then throw it back in the freezer. Yes, the sticks to stick together a bit, but they come apart easily and don’t break.- You can thaw just the right amount of milk. You can take a bag full of 8 milk sticks and only grab 4 and keep the rest frozen if needed. This cuts down on wasting milk.- You really only need to buy one set of trays unless you have quite an oversupply. That will allow you to freeze 16 oz at a time, which probably won’t be needed for most women. At the most, I do 8 oz right now, so I have an entire tray left still. I think I will be purchasing an extra set for the purpose of donating since I have an oversupply.CONS:- It’s a little difficult to tell where the 1 oz mark is, but I usually just estimated and tried to make them even.- They probably take up a little more room in the freezer than freezing the milk storage bags flat.- You can’t fit more than a couple milk sticks in the smaller 4 oz bottles. We were only able to get about 3 in those bottles, so we often would use a separate cup or bottle (the larger 8 oz ones) to thaw 4 oz of milk. Not sure how to get around this just yet, but they are small enough to fit in the opening of pretty much any bottle.Yet, those little things don’t make me rate these any lower than 5 stars. I highly recommend these for breastfeeding mothers, especially if you want to be economical.

OMG!! MAKES PERFECT, LARGE, ICE CYLINDERS FOR TALL, INSULATED WATER BOTTLES & THERMOS’s
Don’t bother with buying all those poorly designed ice cube trays to make ice cylinders for your water bottle or thermos. They’re crap. The OXO one has ridiculously small ice indentations for a tray of its size. The silicone trays are so bendable, you’ll be spilling water everywhere just placing it into the freezer. Many of the plastic ones don’t have covers, or if they do, the covers have upper indentations that are somehow supposed to be filled with water, without spilling it everywhere. I had to buy a BREAST-MILK freezer tray to get a decent cylinder ice tray!!! Shame on all those who incompetently designed cylinder ice trays!! ð¡That being said, these trays are PERFECT for making LARGE ice half-cylinders to stick in my tall, insulated vacuum bottles. The trays have covers, too. There’s no overflow capacity, but that’s okay, the ice cylinders are still big even partially filled, and once the covers are on, it doesn’t easily spill. No more trying to jam rectangular ice cubes down round bottle throats!! No more dispensing ice cube after ice cube after ice cube to adequately fill it! THANK YOU, WHOEVER DESIGNED THIS AND THANK YOU MILKIES!!! You should take these trays of yours, go over to the ice cube tray manufacturers (like OXO), and hit them upside the head to show them how to design a proper cylinder ice tray!

Super helpful, worth the money
Definitely worth buying. I am exclusively breastfeeding but I started using a hakaa while I nurse to prepare for our daycare stash, so I’m frequently collecting only about an ounce at a time. Putting the milk straight in the storage bags was really hard to measure and the bags all had inconsistent amounts in them. This tray was the perfect solution for those problems. Only drawback is that the storage bags take up more room in your freezer with the frozen sticks in them than with the brick style freezing. But if freezer space isn’t a big concern for you, these could be a great option. Also, getting the sticks out of the tray required a little learning curve for me but I watched a video on it and it’s totally easy once you know how. Easy to clean, easy to use, makes me feel more organized. All around a good buy.

Such a great idea!
So what I enjoy about these is that I can easily save gallon-sized bags of 1 oz breast milk ice cubes. It’s great in the summer, especially with a baby that prefers ice cold milk. You can also use it to freeze other things as well. It helps if you only have a little bit of milk left over that you don’t want to put into a freezer bag for saving breast milk as well.I will say as an overproducer that I was not able to save all of my milk in these ice cubes, but the cubes are so much easier than trying to defrost milk and get the fat to melt off the sides of a bag or trying to pour out the very last drop.I would recommend these two all mama’s who are trying to save breast milk. It is so easy to just pull out a cube or two when I need it and pop it into the baby’s bottle. For the ones that I saved in the deep freezer, I put them into a gallon size freezer bag and then put another gallon size freezer bag over it and seal them both to avoid any freezer burn. This to me, is a breastfeeding essential. The only con that I have is that as an overproducer there’s not enough room for all the milk but that is not the products fault.

Not for breast milk
Ok I love the idea of this product and I like it for baby food and freezing breastmilk that has been leftover for milk baths. However, I donât recommend it for breastmilk you plan on using to feed the baby because the milk had crystals in it outside ice which is not safe to feed to the baby. I sealed this thing very well but it wasted the milk I planned on feeding my baby. Iâm not mad at the product bc I can use it regardless but just not for what I wanted to in the first place. Also it needs to be laid perfectly flat or itâll spill thatâs how I know the container doesnât seal very well and got outside ice in the BM
