My grandson loved this, it helps with coordination and cognitive skills. It’s certainly a good value learning toy.

Great for all ages
Grandkids didnt get it at first until the parents started playing with it. Then everyone wanted to play with it. Seems like good quality and I like toys that are fun but add some educational or motor skills value. Fitting pieces back in box is extra bonus puzzle but doable.

Budget-friendly Montessori-inspired Toy
Early childhood educator here! I believe this is a good budget-friendly option for a Montessori-inspired stacker toy for children. I wouldn’t call it truly “Montessori” for a few reasons I’ll describe below.The Montessori philosophy emphasizes open-ended toys that encourage freedom of play and discovery. Problem-solving is encouraged and materials should be self-correcting so that children can figure them out without intervention from an adult. When it comes to animals, Montessori encourages realistic animals and objects to help children apply what they are learning in real-world contexts.This toy is effective for problem-solving. Children can stack the toy in a variety of ways, and a variety of different-leveled challenges are put forth by the picture cards that come with the set. It is also self-correcting. Due to their various shapes, the toys balance in different ways. If the child does not stack them properly, they will tumble. The child can also look at the cards to see if they stacked the animals according to the picture.While the animal shapes are fun and colorful, they are not all particularly recognizable. I am still not sure what animal a couple of them are supposed to be. The scale of the figurines does not help with that either, as the elephant is not the largest block and the pink sheep(?) is large than the brown cow. This would not fit with the Montessori philosophy.The bright colors are nice, but I would not use this toy for color recognition due to the purple, pink, mauve, gray, and brown being very close in hue. In addition, there are some significant discrepancies when you compare the color of the blocks to the colors printed on the cards. There is a big variety of printing quality among the included cards—with some of them looking like the printer was running out of ink.The printing on the animals themselves also has some quality issues. Some of the large areas are spotty or look like they’re wearing out at the edges. Scratching at the paint with a fingernail, I cannot get any additional paint to come off, so I think this is underneath the top/sealant coat. I plan to monitor the pieces closely to make sure that the paint doesn’t start coming off when children play with them—especially if I use them with little ones who put them in their mouths.Speaking of which, the lid of the product advertises a choking hazard due to a small ball. There is no ball included, so that warning seems irrelevant. I did my own choking hazard test with a toilet paper tube, and the only animal that would fit through the tube (thus being a potential choking hazard) was the alligator. While it is skinny, it is long enough that I would feel safe giving it to a young child.Some reviewers mentioned that the product has a strong chemical smell. I disagree. The animals smell a little bit like wood, but nothing stronger than any other wooden toy I’ve owned.This product is clearly manufactured in China, and there are definitely a few “you get what you pay for” issues. If the color similarities, printing issues on the cards, paint imperfections, and difficult-to-distinguish animals are not a worry for you, I think this would be a great little block stacking set!
