Swapped out from those sandpaper Dremel tips which suck anyhow and this has been a game changer for dog nails, especially the end of it that has the dip. Perfect for rounding the nails at the end and also getting in-between nails that have curled to the pads, where regular sandpaper round heads don’t fit.

The third picture shows how this is shipped, so I accidentally threw the first one that I had ordered away and had to reorder. Be sure to check your boxes, as this is quite small. Once received it fits a dremel very well and works to file down my 60lb GS mix nails very well. She is scared of having her nails trimmed, so grinding them is the only option. This worked amazing!

I was skeptical that this bit would be any better than the standard sanding wheel. I could not have been more wrong, this thing is an absolute game changer for those of us that dremmel our dogs nails ourselves, or if you are a groomer. It fit right in my cordless pet dremel, no issues there. My dachshund absolutely hates getting his nails trimmed, and it’s very stressful for me as well because he is so small that I am afraid I will accidentally hurt him in the struggle or clip into his quick when he’s jerking.The first upside of this bit is that the head has a smaller circumference, so it is less likely you are going to bump your dogs other toes or your own fingers. The second is that it has a slightly finer grit than the bits included with my dremel. This is a good thing, because while you can’t take off lengths of nail as quickly, this means that it is less likely that you’re going to accidentally go too far and hit the quick. It also gives you a smoother surface and edges so your dogs nails aren’t rough or have little bits hanging around the tips, and you can phsyically feel how much easier the finer bit shaves off nail and causes less physical vibration. And finally, this bit is completely covered in grit and there is an angled surface for everything. Your dogs nail will naturally slide into the valley to give you a much more consistent trim, and weird to reach spots are much easier to touch up because you have so many ways to get at them with this bit. Especially the dew claws, and for small dogs when you’re dealing with a paw the size of a fun-sized snickers bar. This product made the entire process I’ve been doing for 7 years so much quicker and less stressful for both me and my dog.If you are not experienced with trimming your dogs nails, please remember it is a stressful, uncomfortable experience for most dogs and it is a marathon, not a race. If you get frustrated or rush, you could nip the quick which is going to hurt your pet and make the process much more difficult the next time you try. Always have an antiseptic clotting powder on hand when you are trimming your dogs nails.
