Great Nest for Pregnant Cats and Newborn Kittens
I saw another review that used this “tent” as a birthing place / nesting area for their cat and kittens and decided to try this for my similar situation. This is the ideal setup for a cat who is giving birth (if the cat so chooses this place) or had kittens recently and needs a place to nurse. My cat did NOT choose this as the place to give birth, she preferred a tiny box she had chosen before we set up this tent. My advice: buy this in advance so your cat has time to choose it as a birthing place. If you buy it too close to the birth, it doesn’t give her time to get comfortable with it or explore it. I found and bought this about 2 days before the birth and it was too late by then, she had already been around the house scratching inside boxes to determine a different suitable nest. Another note: you can turn this tent on its side so that the side wide panel is facing the ceiling and just have the smaller side panel open. This gives the illusion of an open box, which makes it easy to look down in to see the kittens without bothering them too much, while the mother cat can sneak in the open side panel. My cat wasn’t a huge fan of the wide side panel being open, nor my involvement with the kittens, so she decided to move the kittens randomly to a small cat ottoman I had bought. So I closed the wide side panel and opened the small side panel and now it resembles a cave / short tunnel. She took to this very well and now stays there with the kittens. It gives her more privacy and more room to stretch out (she’s a long siamese) and room for the kittens to nurse, rather than the ottoman or the tent with both panels open. I recommend this product for your mother cat and/or small kittens. I think up to 4 weeks old should be good, otherwise they will start climbing out. This provides room for a cat with 6+ newborn kittens. It provides customization because you can open one or both panels and turn it on any of its sides to suit your cat’s privacy or access needs. If you have it upside down, you can zip the wide panel up a bit to add height / fence in any wandering kittens who can’t climb well yet, but who are starting to poke their heads out. It is easy to unfold (be careful, because it snaps open quickly / is basically spring-loaded due to the metal wiring) and easy enough to put back into the bag it comes with (just twist it down in a swirl pushing from the long top and secure using feet until you have a good hold of it collapsed together). They also include some toys. I recommend putting a towel down inside instead of the mat it comes with or blankets, as towels keep their shape better and dont move around alot as the kittens squirm along. The mat it comes with might be a good picnic mat for lunch. Very happy with this purchase, bought 2 (this brand and another), and kept both but this brand is definitely the better of the two. Definitely buy this for your mother cat and newborn kittens!

If you are thinking about it – BUY IT!!
I recently moved over 1,000 miles and had to travel with two cats. Two cats who cry the entire 2 mile trip to the vet in their individual carriers. I bought this hoping that it would give them more room and make them more comfortable. This was single handedly one of the best Amazon purchases I have ever made. They were both comfortable, there was room for their litterbox and they used it with no mess! They could see me through the mesh throughout the drive. One thing I especially loved is that I left this large carrier in the car (strapped in!) and used their individual carriers to and from the hotel. In the morning I had worried they would give me a hard time, but I opened the side for the small carrier and large carrier and they gladly stepped in without any hesitation or even trying to get out. This was a huge relief! Another thing that was great about the litterbox was that I was able to bring it inside the hotel easily and then back out. It is large enough to work for the kitties, but small enough to easily transport. It also cleaned well! When we got home and I unloaded the car and moved this large cat carrier inside (our apartment was empty for over a week waiting for a pod) they both made a beeline for this large carrier, this is where they felt safe.I wish my apartment wasn’t so tiny because I would gladly leave this out for them year round as they really love it and see it as their comfort zone.If you are going to take a long road trip with cats, I cannot recommend this carrier more highly. My cats fussed for about the first hour and then were 100% peaceful the other 19!I think I paid $47 or so for the carrier and the litterbox – this was completely worth every penny!

Sturdy as hell pet carrier that I recommend wholeheartedly
We had to move across country in the US a week ago, so we bought this carrier for our rescue cat who hates enclosed spaces and cat carriers. She typically fights like crazy to not be put into her smaller carrier when we have to take her to the vet, and we knew we needed something much bigger so sheâd be comfortable on our many hours trip. I told my partner multiple times that Iâd be leaving a great review about this carrier as we drove, and youâll see why below.First of all, this carrier is huge, so be sure to measure your back seat. Secondly, it is so, so sturdy. Octavia is a 16 lbs cat and had lots of room to walk around in it. We could fit a blanket and a small litter box in there for her, thought I donât recommend the litter box remaining in there. That was a mistake. She was able to stretch out and watch the road as we drove, which was a good distraction for awhile. My review is primarily about the sturdiness of this carrier. After the kitty sedative wore off, Octavia was extra angry about being enclosed for hours. She started to try to get out by repeatedly clawing at the mesh and pressing her face and body hard on it. She would take a break for awhile and try again every so often. That was distressing to watch but did not at all affect the integrity of it in any way.The mesh used on the entrances to the carrier is so damned sturdy but is also not overly stiff. It didnât hurt her as she tried to get out but just held up to her onslaught. She wasnât able to rip it or even slightly damage it in any way. I also love the zippers on this item. Theyâre easy to open and close but are the kind that do not move from the position you leave them in until you grasp the zipper tab to close or open it further. This means that if you unzip one side a little way and stick your hand inside, the zipper will not move from the position you left it in. Your cat or dog will not be able to get out if they press their face or paw on the opening because it will not move until you zip it closed or open it further. Amazing. Our other smaller carrier has the typical zipper and you have to be super careful when opening it.At one point Octavia decided to curl up in one corner of the carrier. Because of the way she was situated in the car, that meant the weight of her body in the carrier was pressing onto the corner as she kind of hung over on one side. That carrier held her like a champ. As for the litter, it kind of got everywhere after awhile, so donât do that. However, I was able to clean it so easily and it looks like it did when we first took it out of the package. No stains, rips, scratches, dents, marks, pilling, loose threads⦠no issues at all. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this to everyone. Look no further if you need a huge, extremely well made carrier for your pet.

This collapsible pet carrier is perfect for cats due to the small litter box that fits inside but allows ample room for comfort during travel. Mesh front allows air circulation and vision, side mesh is simple to use.Folds up perfectly into the carrying bag after use and stores easily in small area (e.g. hang from hook in broom closet).

We had a big move from the south of UK back to Ireland planned. Total driving time was looking like 16 hours (plus a ferry in between) and we could not bare the thoughts of having our two very timid rescue cats in a small plastic carrier for this length of time. They hate the carrier and we would not have been able to let them out to stretch their legs as they don’t like being handled. I bought this because the reviews were quite promising and hoped for the best. I got it a month before the move and let the cats get familiar with it. Eventually they started using it as a safe space and loved it. We loaded them into the back seat on moving day and this thing WAS AMAZING. They weren’t best pleased with the journey, but they had each other to snuggle and comfort and ended up sleeping lots. They only tried to escape once and it was a pretty feeble attempt. I could pop my hand in from the passenger side every now and then to give them a rub. We tied the zippers for the ferry in case of escape, but there was no issue. Honestly, this thing saved the day. It was perfect for the back seat and the cats were content as could be in the end. It really removed all stress and worry and we could not rate it highly enough. It also works as the perfect little cat tent too when not being used for travel. Love love love x x

Bought it to transport my very nervous cat 400 miles to our new home. Left it there for him to get used to for a few weeks during which it became a favourite hiding hole. The actual journey was great, he slept for most of it. Not sure how well it would cope with a very determined Ninja cat, but for an average escapee should be fine. Litter tray good too..

This is probably one of the best Amazon purchase I have ever made. I was actually on a week long drive from one end of the country to the other. I received this two weeks before moving, so my cat was well adjusted to it by the time we had to move. He’s a very quiet cat as is, but even now he loves it, he will sit in it for hours; it’s basically his safe place. The carrier itself was strong enough to carry with the cat in it, the zippers were great in keeping it close, the mesh was strong and didn’t rip. All it all, I would highly recommend this for anyone who needs to transport their cat. I will be taking another journey in some months via van, but this time around I have no anxiety about how my cat will fare.
