Perfect for a smaller dog or a puppy
I’m a big fan of these leashes. They keep a little bit of tension on the line and prevent dogs from getting tangled up as often. They also provide more control, with a break and a lock on the line to prevent your puppy from going where they should not. The build quality is good and everything works as intended. The line has the right amount of tension, keeping it off the ground without pulling too hard. It is also more comfortable to use this than a rope leash or leather, as the contoured handle spreads any pressure from a puppy pulling over a wider area. If you do not have one of these leashes I can highly recommend these for when you take your puppy on a walk.

Feels cheap but works well
The plastic housing feels super cheap, the leash itself is thin, and the metal buckle might as well be plastic. But it works, and works well, especially for a cat like I’ll be using it for. And the price point is good for it, so I can recommend with limitations (probably won’t survive many stops on the sidewalk, etc).

Pretty but not very strong
This is so pretty and it looks so cute on my little jack russell/cattle dog mix but honestly its not strong enough for her. I feel like she is going to break it every time we take her out. She needs a lot more leash training, she wants to run and throws herself against the lead – to the point at times she has broken her collar. We keep this in one of the vehicles as an emergency leash but we stopped using it after a few times because it just felt flimsy.

I like this small leash. It’s light, and seems to have a good spring. The button works just like others, but is small but easy to operate. Overall the whole leash is easy to operate and control with a single hand.The key is the little bead that unfolds any twists in the line when It reals in. I have another leash, that does not have that bead, and when the leash ribbon twists, it binds up inside. This bead should keep the ribbon from twists going inside the leash and binding up. I have a similar leash with this and that has lasted 1.5 dogs, so about 14 years in total. I hope to get that same life out of this one.

Works well for my 10lb poodle. Definitely would not recommend for a large dog. Fits well for small hands.

Works well. Seems to be high qualify. My mini schnauzer does not over power the locking mechanism. I would recommend!

Cheaply made plastic housing, clunky recoil
To be fair the price point of this leash isnât on the high end. However itâs much higher than the quality. This is a lightweight retractable leash thatâs made with cheap plastic. Itâs not for large dogs but the housing just feels cheaply made. I find the color attractive but thatâs about all. The leash itself is narrow and even the way it retracts is not like that of a nicer made leash. I suppose you could call this a budget option but itâs really not very well made. I definitely worry about longevity. I donât use it often but when I do Iâm reminded of its clunky retract and cheap assembly. I would skip this one had I known.
