2 ft of lights
I got the light up leash and thought it was damaged. It only lights up about 2 ft of the 5 ft leash. That’s not what I paid for. No where was it specifically identified that way. Not even in the pictures. I can’t return it because it has been just over a month since I got it. I had ordered several other items to go along with it that came later so I didn’t even look at this until the other ones arrived. What a shoddy way of doing business.

Not perfect but does what’s it’s supposed to do
There is not a huge selection of lighted leashes out there. Even when I went to all of my local pet stores, including the big name ones, I couldn’t find anything other than reflective leashes and that’s not what I wanted. This leash is a good price and it’s a 5 footer. Many of them are only 4 ft. The light starts right below the handle and goes for 18 inches but that’s fine. You can have either a steady light or a flashing light. It’s not the easiest to turn on – you have to push on a thick part of the leash near the top – but it’s not too difficult. The part of the leash that lights up is really stiff. It’s like a hard plastic tubing – only flat. It’s a little awkward. I have a mini Australian Shepherd – about 18 lbs – and this leash is a bit heavy for him. The buckle part is really big , like it’s made for a golden retriever size dog. But the point is, this leash is very sturdy, the light is bright and it sure beats walking with a non lighted leash. It gets dark so early this time of year that I am using this leash every evening now. I wish they made one for small, medium & large dogs. Or at least 2 different sizes. But the price on this leash is so reasonable that I don’t regret the purchase.

Durability lacking
As mentioned in another review, the on-off button is obstreperous. The 5′ length is 6-12″ too long, for my purposes (two young Airedale Terrier males), and repeatedly shortening the lead by wrapping it around my hand eventually pulls the light “tube” out of the switch/battery holder. It can be difficult to determine whether the light is off, particularly when the battery is towards the end of its life and the surroundings not pitch black, which shortens the battery life. And, the switch/battery holder is delicate – I’ve only managed one working battery change before the operation fractures a small metal part, integral to closing the circuit.The light is highly visible, the nylon is chew-resistant, and I find the wrist loop quite comfortable.

Marvelous!
This is a marvelous product. I have a white 14 pound bichon frise and bright red light it makes us quite visible on the street. I didn’t give it 5 stars because the switch is a little hard to push on and off.

Forget this one!
The leash is great but you can forget about the light. Very, Very, Very Hard to operate if at all!

Battery hard to replace. Metal disk switch broke off
I bought this product in a local shop here in Denver. The battery needed to be replaced which can only be done by unscrewing the cab that houses the battery. To make matters worse the switch to used to switch the light on and off is only held in place by a tiny little hook? Which broke off instantly rendering the leash useless. Save your money

Doesnât light up all the wsy
I have another one I purchased elsewhere and the whole leash lights up. Thought thatâs what I was ordering again as a gift but only light up a small amount.

Cheaper construction than what I would have liked.
I purchased one of these to walk my labrador retriever around RV campgrounds at night. I have only used it a handful of times and already the reflective covering on it has worn off. Additionally, the light does not seem to permeate the entire pet leash. I can say the same for the collar which I purchased to match.

It’s great to have an LED leash, but it only lights up about halfway. If you’re ok with that, then this is great. Regardless, it is very useful for people who walk in the dark.
