The Adventure Zone for Our Curious Cat
When we adopted our energetic kitten, Miso, we quickly realized that keeping her entertained and safe while we were busy was going to be a challenge. Enter the Tailtastic Pet Playpen with Surround Tunnel. I was intrigued by its design, offering not just a safe space but a built-in adventure with its surround tunnel.The true test came when we had a family barbecue. We set up Misoâs new playpen in the garden, hoping it would keep her occupied and out of trouble while we entertained. It was a hit! Miso was absolutely thrilled with the tunnel, darting in and out and pouncing at the soft sides, which stood up remarkably well to her sharp claws. The breathable mesh meant she could watch us and feel involved, all while staying secure in her little play area.Not only did it keep her safe, but it also made her the center of attention among our guests, who loved watching her playful antics. The playpen is now referred to as “Misoâs Adventure Zone” in our house. This is pretty ok.
Purchased medium because large wasnât available in the time frame we needed. Itâs a temporary solution and it works. My cat seems to be quite alright in it too. Easy to pop up. Not superior quality but it works. Light weight. Wish there was a window on some of the solid siding. Seems secure. Doesnât fit our large litter bin, had to use a foil pan. Looks nice. Wouldnât use outdoors.

Love this. Gives foster kittens extra room to play.
This is great for my foster kittens. When they are little, a lot of the time, they slip right through the bars of a metal crate. This helps with crate training and keeps them contained. Itâs easy to use, easy to put together. It holds up as well as can be expected from the kind of abuse it takes. It washes fine but I donât know if itâs really meant for this. Itâs functional and a good choice

Very important zipper is broken
I would love to give this product five stars. It is the perfect size and shape that we need to bring in our two outdoor bunny pets during a really cold snap. However, the cat tunnel zipper is broken and with constant use of the bunnies going in and out, that will create an exit for them when theyâre not supposed to leave the enclosure. There is no other way to close off that hole.UPDATE: the rabbits did get out because of broken zipper. The gray fabric is so thin, I was able to push a zip tie through the gray and secure it mostly closed.

Perfect for containing kittens or small puppies!
Bought this because my rescue cat turned out to be pregnant. I have other cats and dogs and didn’t want any issues or mama getting stressed. This was perfect. I put a small liter box on one side, a bed for her and babies and her food and water on the other side. The large had the perfect amount of space. As the kittens got older I left the mess door on top of the shorter side open so she could jump out but they couldn’t. The mess tube was perfect and allowed the babies to interact with the other pets but sturdy enough to protect them. We have an 12 week old kitten that was too rough with play and they could still play through the mesh. But the metal slinky inside, keeps the tub from collapsing on them and was the perfect buffer. Now that the kittens are weening it’s great to separate mom temporarily or keeping them contained at night or when guests are over.

Rips easily
This pen was good for a few weeks, maybe, and then the corner ripped open completely. Another area is starting to rip, too, and I haven’t really been able to fix it bc of the slick material. I’ve kept my kittens in it and they were easily able to tear it open.

Medium for kitten is perfect
This playpen is perfect for a kitten to keep them out of trouble. I use this for her bed time after we have vigorous play time. She gets some kitten and a little makeshift litter box. Sheâs fine when we all go to sleep and in the early morning she wants out. But she does back in herself to play with toys left in there.Itâs perfect for what I wanted it for. Keeps her safe when I canât watch her get into trouble.

It works
I bought this product to keep my 7-month-old kitten confined while I was at work. It’s big enough that I can put a litter box, a couple of toys, and a small water dish in the front half and his pillow and blanket in the back half. He really enjoys sitting in the tunnel. The downfall is that the mesh tunnel is very easily chewed through and/or Claude part. He has gotten out several times by making holes in the tunnel and I’ve had to zip tie them back together. I had a feeling this would happen, but for the most part it does contain him. I would not recommend putting more than one or possibly two cats if they get along in the tent. I would also not recommend putting your cat in the tent and putting it outside as they can very easily escape. Another downfall is if you take the tunnel off there’s no way to block the holes that the tunnel connects to the tent with. You would have to find a piece of cloth and attach it in some way to the tent to block the hole. I won’t say that it’s not worth getting but just be aware of these little problems. All in all all three of my cats like it and if I leave the top unzipped occasionally I will find that they choose to just go in there and nap. But when I am at work for the day I make sure that only my kitten is in the tent.

Got the large for my small cat and glad I did as when you put the litter tray, beds, water and mat in, there isnât much space left. The tent goes up really easily but I canât make sense of the instructions that indicate where a rod gets slipped in to increase the stability of the tent. Maybe the channel itâs supposed to fit in got sewn up by mistake? Love the fact it has a play tunnel as it gives extra space for my cat to move around, sleep and play.
