Size and high back are a PLUS!
I have purchased three of these so far. The first two for a very large male Maine Coon cat (my cat), and the other one for a very TINY, FEMALE Siamese (my 98 year old mother’s cat) who must just back up to the back wall and just let go! The high back is a life saver…for the cats! Keeps any wayward urine inside the cat box instead of leaking out over the edge and creating even more stink. Couldn’t even tell you how old my first one was, before the base became brittle and finally cracked. I scrub out the Maine Coon’s every week, use liners for my Mom’s cat’s box, and scrub out every 2-3 weeks. Could not find this size in either of the big box pet stores, so searched WAY BACK to find the brand I purchased years ago for my big boy. And I’d definitely buy again!

The cat box is great. The swinging door on the hood is broken when I received it my cats donât use it so I just leave it off, but it needs to be made better on that portion.

Cute and compact, but quality not great
Iâm disappointed in the flimsiness of this cat box compared to the Petmate litter box Iâve had for several years. The quality has definitely gone downhill. And it doesnât have the notches on the sides of the lid to easily snap it on and off the base, like the older version, so itâs kind of a pain to get the lid off. The swinging door is attached with tiny, flimsy knobs, so if weâd left it as is, it would have come off every time the cat used it. We didnât want a swinging door for our elderly cat, however, so we cut half the door off and taped the remaining half-moon to the lid, to make a normal-sized doorway that doesnât move.The upside is that itâs cute and space agey (we got the one with the silver lid), and it works fine for our small cat.

Great design minimal footprint, quality/quality control lacking
Pros: Design. We love the minimal footprint and how it fits in our bathroom perfectly. Made in the USCons: The liddoor does not seal properly and there is a noticeable gap letting air/ odor out. The two plastic pieces that connect the lid to housing appear to small, weak, and flimsy. One inadvertent pull on the door and they will snap. Oddly enough this is exactly why I am replacing my old litter box. The plastic piece on the lid broke off (not the same litter box).

Crappier than the litter you’ll put in it
Aight, look.I’ve never left a review on Amazon. Good or bad.So I want that to set your context for how much I *loathed* this god forsaken litter box.First, the first time I ordered it, it didn’t even make it to me. Amazon told me it was here. But my doorman never had a record of it. So I had to bitch to Amazon to get them to send it again.That’s not inherently the product’s fault, but I needed to complain about that too. Anyway.To call this thing flimsy would be an insult to flimsy things. There are no mechanisms to make the top lock onto the base. There’s this little latch on the side of the base allegedly for the little latches on the top to go under, but the lid wasn’t big enough to allow both of them to do that. So I could only latch one side.I thought, “Hell, doesn’t really need to stick, since I won’t be moving it unless I move.” So I went ahead and just dropped the lid on. Then I tried to put the door on – and simply touching the door hinge on the top knocked it off.And even had I gotten it to work, it was too small for my cat. That might be on me for not checking into sizes and all that jazz, but I defend myself on the basis that the picture makes it look pretty big. (And my cat isn’t exactly a behemoth, either, so to say it’s too small for him is saying something).I checked the reviews after my issues and someone else mentioned issues with the door not going in. So whatever assembly line they’re using is missing a cog or something.Don’t waste your money. The frustration of this anti christ of a pet maintenance item isn’t worth the extra 30 bucks for a good one.It does get 5 stars for easiness to clean, though, because it was incredibly simple and satisfying to throw in the garbage.

Great for a small cat
Please pay attention to the dimensions of this box relative to the size of your cat. This box works for my small-framed kitty, but itâs a tight fit. I have to scoop it twice a day or their isnât enough room for her to keep using it. If you have a medium-large cat, or donât want to scoop often, consider a larger box. The door flap is useless on a box this small because once itâs pushed inward thereâs no room for the cat in the box. It isnât necessary and it pops off easily.That said, it is sturdy, easy to clean, and the filter on top seems to work well as I can only smell anything if sheâs gone very recently and the smell doesnât linger.

Not impressed
I have a large adult cat that weighs about 20 lbs. While this is a relatively attractive box and priced reasonably, I’ve been disappointed with several things. One, the swinging door pops off constantly, usually on one side, which makes it block the entrance. The higher back is nice, but as the front slopes down toward the door it seems to invite more litter to leave the box with the cat. It is a pain to scoop cleanly as all the corners are rounded. Popping the top back on after scooping is also a pain. Even though it has a filter to contain catbox smell, it doesn’t. I even added extra dryer sheets to no avail as the “filter” is so flimsy and didn’t appear to be helpful at all. I will not buy again, and won’t recommend. Sorry! I really was hoping to save money with this budget priced box. MAYBE it would be better for a kitten…

HUGE LITTLER BOX
I was SUPER surprised at the size of this littler box. I have two cats and this box is perfect for the two of them. I bought a large dog kennel and put the box in that with a cover. Too large for my walk in closet and way too big to put in the bathroom. But I donât have to have multiple litter boxes just one big enough for the both.

I like this box , the one issue is that is I had to take the flap/door off for kitten as she didnât want to go inside . Iâll put it back on when she is bigger . There still less litter on the with the box than others even without the door . I would buy second one .

Sirve, pero la verdad es que no cierra bien y el agarre de la puerta está super mal, tuve que quitar la puerta porque se caÃa todo el tiempo, no embona bien. Pero pues ya qué, al menos sirve para tener la arena adentro, pero no lo volverÃa a comprar
