Plastic and does the job for a small dog
The plastic is very light weight and on the cheap side, I dog walk, so have seen a lot of varieties of these – this is the lightest and cheapest I’ve used. This is for a light, young dog, so works fine. It should work for awhile and do fine. The air tag was a nice bonus, so using that. It came in many colors, yellow is nice for visibility. It’s ok for the price, if it’s an extra and for a lighter or well trained dog.

Good Retractable Leash
Very good retractable leash- no tangle & very comfortable. Haven’t had it long enough to know it’s durability, but from pervious experience the quality of this leash is good & well made so we expect some good use from it. And after a month, it’s a good as new. Easy stop clip. But most importantly the kids must be beautifully color coordinated! MissWiggles looks lovely in her sunny yellows!ð

Retractable Leashes
I bought two leashes, one for my smaller dog and one for the larger. This leash works fine for the smaller dog, but the larger leash stopped clicking and locking within ten days. It could not withstand the tugging of the more powerful dog (who weighs only about 18 pounds but is very strong and muscular).
