Stylish and functional backpack to travel with my chihuahua!
I tried so many backpacks before landing on this one! It was slightly more than I wanted to spend, but worth every penny. I love the fact that itâs so stylish looking that people think I am just carrying a regular backpack. You can tell itâs a quality product, well-made with lots of thoughtful details. Itâs a pretty roomy bag for my 6lb chihuahua and heâs definitely able to lay down and chill. What sold me on the bag was that there are lots of pockets to hold water bottles, treats, poop bags, etc. It even has a hidden compartment for my laptop/iPad for when I travel. I love all the windows that open up for extra air circulation and for his head to poke out and enjoy the sights with me. Itâs on the sides too which means the sun shouldnât be hitting him directly esp in summer heat. When opened, the flaps easily are held back when you roll it and velcro. There is a safety harness to keep your dog in the backpack and prevent him/her from jumping out. The faux Sherpa lining inside is detachable too. While itâs a pretty big bag, itâs also lightweight enough for me to carry him around for a couple of hours which was my biggest goal.Canât wait to use it this summer for his first international flight!

Great for running errands with a new puppy
My puppy wasn’t done with all her shots and I needed a way to get around with her safely. I tried the sling first but the puppy kept slipping around and it was too hot with no shape. This Roverlund backpack keeps a safe structure around her, provides pockets for water bottle, keys, wallet and my laptop. I started storing wee pads under the bottom panel to make it more efficient carrier. After a few weeks though my puppy learned to chew the mesh and the zippers so I had to sew those openings up. It’s still breathable and functional but worth mentioning for others carrying a puppy going through their teething phase.

My mini Dachshund loves it
He is very picky and doesnât enter any bag I throw at him but this one is not only well made and looks good – he also loves it. He is elevated from the ground and can watch the scenery around him. Especially handy in crowded places where people would step on my little friend all the time otherwise! Definitely an upgrade and way better style than cheaper alternatives

Expensive and Not Perfect
Nice looking product but needs improvement in functionality. The zip mesh panels do not stay rolled open. The Velcro straps needs to be improved with non scratch ones. The mesh panels needs to be larger for visibility and for air flow, especially the top mesh panel. The depth of back pack is a bit narrow for my 20 pound medium Jack Russel. O the over all back pack needs to be a bit more structured and more box like. The top handle needs stronger reinforcement to the pack itself. Need D rings to clip toys and things on. A luggage tag w the pooch name would have been nice at that price.

Perfect!
Graham is typically a very anxious pup but he was calm and comfortable in this bag. Itâs easy and comfortable on the shoulders and back and sturdy enough to hold his 20 pounds. If youâre looking for a bag for under the seat, I would recommend their other travel bag as itâs much more spacious for under the seat. I used both. Graham is 20 pounds 13in tall and 18in long.

Frenchie loves it
I never write reviews but I had to share this. I am a young female who frequently travels alone with my 18 lb French bulldog. We used to have the roverlund regular pet carrier which is a nice product but when Iâm traveling by myself and trying to juggle bags and lug the carrier it was such a hassle. My flying experience has been so much easier now that I can get through the airport hands free and itâs a great bonus that it has a little pocket in the front because the pet carrier has to count as your personal item so I used to struggle with a place to put small stuff that I might need easy access to like wallet boarding pass etc. this has made our travels sooo much easier. I will say my frenchie is very comfortable flying and enjoys being in a carrier so if your dog hates flying and itâs a hassle to get them in the carrier this might be difficult to get them in

Not durable. Broke on a flight and had to cancel vacation
I had two flight. The zipper broke on the first flight and I held my dog (12 pounds) the rest of the way. Had to cancel my vacation. Terrible customer service with the company. Refunded the bag but didnât even want it back to investigate the issue. Not durable!

Fatal flaw
Feature-wise this backpack carrier is everything I wanted for frequent train travel for me and my cat. There really is nothing else quite like it on the market. Stylish, ventilated, large laptop pocket, additional storage.. and yet one flaw – one major flaw – makes the entire product unusable for me. They didnât put structural support in the middle of the bag, causing it to perpetually cave in on your animal. Iâm pretty shocked that this was overlooked in the design. It has great bottom structure and great top structure, yet absolutely NO structure in the middle. It should either have a wire going through the entire perimeter of the packâs top or it should have some sort of structural beam through the middle sides, this would give it the structural integrity that it needs as a proper pet carrier. I struggled deciding on whether or not to keep this as most everything else about the backpack was better than the competition. But at the end of the day, I didnât feel good about my cat being inside with it caving in as it does, especially for the length of travel Iâll be using it for. And what if someone or something bumps against it? Could injure or cause a traumatic experience for her, given the lack of structure. Sadly, returned. I REALLY hope the owner fixes this issue as they would have a fantastic product.
