Good collar, one he can grow into. Only 6 months old and 9 lbs. Only thing I don’t enjoy is the odor of the leather material. Rinsed and dried twice, still there.

for reference, I have a tortie. a very, very dramatic one at thatso, we did have to keep this one a bit loose just so she can tolerate it and she did for a few weeks! just got a bit itchy and annoyed with the bell after a while ^^ still, it was super cute on her and the quality is actually quite amazing! i do suggest break away collars for your cat though 🙂 mine is indoor specifically and didn’t entirely need one anyway but hey! why not! we still have it as well just in case <3

a tad heavy for a cat
This collar seems a little heavy for a cat. I think it’s better suited for a small dog. I don’t think a dog or cat should be condemned to a life of dry food alone, or condemned to stay inside and never get to lay in the dirt and sniff the grass. Cats need grass to control their hairballs. I think cats should experience the outdoor within reason. It’s hard. I have a fenced in yard but they still scale the fence and go after the hummingbirds that are hovering low to get at my fragrant salvia. I need the cats outside too so I can hose off the catio from time to time. So after the last bird casualty, they will all wear these collars with bells. Only I don’t think they are effective without me adding extra bells. This collar does not have a snap away, it is an old fashioned buckle but it does have a piece of elastic joining the straps to allow a one inch emergency stretch. I did show the new collar to the birds for approval and the mockingbird just scoffed and said “Bells? Why can’t we have a siren?” Anyway, I read that cats can learn to move without setting off the bells and I worry that when they pounce the bird will not have enough time so I wish there was another solution. But regardless, the bells should help a few birds get away. I will also do my part by trying to keep the cats in at dawn and dusk when the birds are most active. I will say that this collar would be wonderful for a blind persons cat.
