    Good brush, GREAT customer service
When I first got this brush, I gave it four stars. My biggest complaint was that the handle had completely come off the brush after just a few uses. The company read my review and responded within a couple of days, sending me a personal email apologizing, saying that the handle coming off was a defect in that particular brush, and promising me a new one. Sure enough, the new one arrived within a few days, and I’ve had no problems since. Really pleased with the customer service, even more so than with the brush itself. As for the brush itself, my initial comments remain mostly unchanged…The actual brush part is AMAZING. In the big brush (about the size of an index card), there are 28 rows of 24 bristles each, with the bristles being in pairs. They’re fairly hard wires, and don’t seem to bend out of place easily. Dog hair varies widely, so your experiences may be different that mine, but I have an adult Bearded Collie with a full-length coat, and the brush is perfect for him. It strips away the dead, loose hair and removes mats better than any brush I’ve ever used. No need thus far for combs, scissors or mat rakes (and there were some pretty bad mats). It also does a great job of pulling out brambles, sticks, bugs, leaves – those of you with long-coated breeds will know where I’m coming from. Pin brushes and combs have nothing on this slicker. So that’s the good part. Now for the less-good. I’m not as in love with the cleaning button as everyone else. You have to push it in pretty far for it to click, and for someone with a short thumb, it’s a little difficult to do one-handed. Also, if there’s a lot of hair on it, the bristles don’t go in all the way and get stuck outside, so you have to pull the hair off manually anyway. Maybe it works better on short-haired breeds? Quite frankly, this is a really minor issue for me, because, really, how hard is it to just pull hair off the brush? Not a big deal. Also, the handle, while well-padded, is a bit large for my hand. I wish they’d made it just a teensy bit thinner so I’d have more control, especially over lengthy grooming sessions. So, to summarize, truly great brush for a long haired, double coated dog with some mats. My critiques are fairly minor, and should not be considered criticism so much as room for slight improvements. And really top-notch customer service.

    Great for thick coats.
I love the way it is so easy to clean out but it was too harsh for my dog because she doesn’t have a thick coat and I felt it was hurting her. So this is a great brush for an animal with a thick coat. I ended up getting a brush with little rubber bits on the tips which is much better for her thinner coat. Her fur is thin and while, long, quite fine. But, it’s a great idea. I used it on my cat once and it was wonderful. Might try to find one smaller for my cat, who does have a thick coat.

    Easy to use
I used it for the first time on my Golden Retriever. It worked very well. I thought it might be a little bit larger, but it works great. Push the button and the hair almost drops off by itself. I admit that this is a GREAT brush, the only concern is how long will it last. My Golden Retriever is starting to loose her winter coat. I will be using this brush a lot in the next month, hope it holds up.

    Cat gives it 5 stars
I purchased this primarily for my long-haired cat, Sylvester. He loves being brushed, it’s his secret addiction. Every night, he enters the bathroom as I’m getting ready for bed and sits by the brush (which I leave resting on the tub). He’s my first cat so I don’t know if other cats are like this, but he almost demands to be brushed nightly. The brush works great because it’s effective, removes lots of hair (I wonder how much fur would be floating around if I didn’t brush him nightly…) is gentle on the cat and easy to clean. I also use it on my dogs, who are so-so on brushing, and they tolerate it well. One dog has a fairly thick coat and it is effective on her as well, so I imagine this brush is all-purpose. I really like that you just push the button and the fur pops loose and can be easily discarded. Highly recommend if you have any pets!

Locking mechanism broke after 6 months
Only received 6 months of use out of the brush. The locking mechanism to keep the bristles out no longer works. I am trying to figure out how to enact the 5 Year 100% Money Back Guarantee, but I cannot find anything on it. I would actually consider buying the brush again since it works amazing on my golden retrievers, but if I cannot figure out the money back guarantee I’ll likely choose a different brand to see if I can find a brush that lasts more than 6 months.

    3 Dogs Love it!
Got this brush today and right away tested it on our 3 dogs. They all enjoyed it, even our new canine family member – my Mother-in-law’s chihuahua. The dogs were making content noises and moving their hind legs in a funny way when I was brushing certain areas on their back near the tail, like they were saying, “Oh yes, that’s the right spot!” :-)The brush bristles don’t seem to be scratching their skin at all. Of course, you reasonably adjust the effort you apply depending on the dog breed and the type of fur they have. I brushed the chihuahua very lightly, and she loved it.I also like how the button snaps the bristles into the “on” position and the brush stays that way – you don’t need to be constantly holding the button down, like I’ve seen on another model. When you are done, you simply push the button again, and the bristles retract completely, leaving you with a neat rectangular wad of fur that just slides off the brush. In summary: I love the ease of use and the effeciveness of this brush and the dogs love the feel of it! We will be definitely using it every day from now on. Five stars, two thumbs and 12 paws up! 🙂

    All good except the color…
I have a 82-lb long haired German Shepherd, so a brush like this is essential. This is one is really nice–got the bigger size given the size of Tabu, and it fits in my hand nicely. Does what it should do in terms of being a good brush. Very easy to clean the collected hair with the push button function. Very nice. My only complaint–and the reason it did not get 5 stars, is baby blue as a color (for a GS, no less)…I think not for big dogs. Big brush should be a bit less baby blue and a bit more…you know.
