Works in FL sun
Used this on my puppies with a black and brown nose while spending all day at the beach. It worked well keeping them moisturized and not burnt.

No more crusty nose!
This is my second order of Handy Hound Snout Screen. My pink nose dog would get a sore dry nose from sun and wind. I started using this product for protection and to heal her nose. I put this on her everyday and she is healed and happy. Thank you for a great product.

Murphy likes it
My 7l. Chihuahua doesn’t seem to mind wearing the sunscreen. It hasn’t been sunny for the 2 weeks since I bought it, so I don’t know if it is preventing sunburn on his belly.

Love this stuff
So my pup (Oak) was diagnosed with the milder version of canine Lupus last Spring (2018). He started to slowly lose pigment on his nose during the Winter before, but he still had his appetite and energy so I just figured he was getting old. However, once the weather started to warm up, and we were spending more time outside, his nose began to burn and flare up something awful — all cracked, bloody and scabby. The vet put him on antibiotics, and that helped but certainly wasn’t a long-term solution. We live in Colorado and the sun can be pretty fierce here, especially when you get up into the mountains. I tried keeping him inside during the hottest part of the day, which also helped, but he was miserable. And so was I. Oak is my camping, backpacking, fishing buddy and I couldn’t take him with me anymore. He was used to being able to go outside whenever he wanted, or wander around the woods and mountains, but even just a little while in the sun, unless it was early morning or late afternoon, and his nose would start to flare up again. So he basically spent most of last Summer stuck in the house. After still being careful and still having his nose flare up, I decided that wasn’t going to be the case this year and started looking at sunscreens specifically for dog noses… and this product has made such a HUGE difference. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now and I really can’t say enough good things about it.For the first week I was keeping him inside during the day and applied it when I let him out after getting home. The results were absolutely amazing. His nose cleared up entirely and turned pink again (the pigment will never come back) instead of being a chapped and bloody mess after half an hour in the sun. Then I started putting it on in the morning and let him stay outside until I could get home on my lunch break. Still great results and no flare ups.The past week I’ve been letting him go outside whenever he wanted again, just like old times… and he did start to burn a bit (you can see it in the pic I included) but it’s nothing like it used to be. I wish I took a before picture. And that spot could possibly be because I didn’t apply enough, or because I was only putting it on in the morning. Now I’m applying it twice a day and suspect it will clear up entirely again. You have no idea (or maybe you do, since you’re reading this) how *awesome* this feels. For the past year I’ve been thinking I couldn’t take him anywhere in the daytime. No more trips to the mountains or even walks on a weekend afternoon. Now I’ve got my sidekick and best friend back…

Good product
Bought this because I wanted to take my dogs to the lake for a 4 day trip and since my one dog has a pink nose, I always put sunscreen on her. In the past, Iâve had a smaller tube (about the size of chapstick) and while it worked it wasnât as easy as this larger tube. My dogs donât love it when I put anything on their noses, but I think this was easier. I especially love that there are natural ingredients. Havenât noticed any burning or peeling on their noses so it must have done its job!

Easy to apply
Seems to keep paws smooth but that is not always a good thing for pups when there is hot pavement so buyer be(a)ware.

Protects the snout!
Great product. My pup kept getting sunburnt on his snout and peeling so we found this and no more peeling or issues since weâve started to use it. He doesnât mind when we use it either so thatâs nice!

Protecting Our Girl with a Sensitive Snout
My rescue dog has a weak immune system. One symptom is a sensitive nose that peels and cracks after more than 45 min in the sun. We live in Southern California where we have many days of full sun and our rescue loves just laying in the sun. We use this balm 1-2x a day pending how long she’s out to protect her sensitive nose. We know it works because we stopped seeing cracked peeling and bloody spots on her snout.
