Intuitive to operate, and great volume.
I just received this sound machine. I spent about 6 hours looking at and comparing sound machines before I settled on this particular model. It has a good number of sounds for the money I spent. It also had a $4.00 off coupon at the time I purchased it. But there were no agreements about positive reviews in exchange for the coupon. I’m not getting any type of remuneration for this review or the purchase of the product. I have no connections whatsoever with the manufacturer or the seller of this product, or any employee of either. The only connection I have is my purchase of the product with my own money, and with a clearly marked $4.00 coupon on the item page. I will not receive a refund for a review either.I haven’t used it for sleeping yet, so I’ll have to come back and update in a month or so after I’ve used it for awhile but honestly when I listen to it, it’s loud enough to drown out the garbage truck, and the thump thump of bass music playing in cars going by, as well as other household noises.This machine is made of a lightweight plastic but does not feel delicate or flimsy. The one I bought is white with dark grey markings on the buttons. It has an orange light in the bottom of the unit which I don’t need, but if you need a nightlight it is a nice feature. I turned it off right away.Using a regular old fashioned wooden ruler the top and bottom measure right about 4 inches, and it stands almost 2 inches tall. It has 4 little rubberized type pads about 1/3 inch wide on the bottom. They should be able to prevent most slipping and sliding but if you need a firmer non slip some velcro ought to work or one of those non skid things made to put under carpet corners. There any number of ways to prevent slipping. Like I said it’s rubbery enough that it should prevent most slippage.The only drawback I can see is it takes one of those round plug ins. So you can’t use just any USB power cord. This has a USB cord but has that pin type end that plugs into the side of the machine.It’s not a deal breaker, but you can’t just pull out one of those USB cords, to replace it, that I’m sure everyone has in their junk drawer. LOL. A power brick is included which is very nice because you won’t have to juggle charging your phone, tablet , laptop and etcetera with using the sound machine all night. Cudos for an included power brick!So I got this little machine for $15.00 and change plus tax.I just opened the box, and removed the power brick and the power cord and plugged all of it up and in. The power button is clearly visible, and easy to press. The buttons are a good size and far enough apart that someone with big hands and fingers can press each button without pressing other buttons at the same time. Cudos to the person who designed this machine for the well thought out placement of the buttons. The buttons do NOT light up, so if you need buttons that light up go with a different machine. I don’t require light up buttons so they’re fine for me.Honestly even kids could operate this sound machine without instructions. I figured it out in a couple of minutes, without looking at the instructions, but I had them nearby just in case.The buttons are arranged in a semicircle around the top of the machine just above the speaker which is in the center of the top. It’s a nice sized speaker. Each button is clearly marked with the operation it is for. I ran through all the sounds for which there are forward and backwards buttons, so you can go through the sounds from either direction. I need reading glasses and I could see these marking fine without reading glasses. Each button is a little over 3/4 an inch, and the speaker grill is approximately 2 inches wide and circular in shape, and it sits directly in the center on the top. There are 5 indicator lights that reflect the timer if you choose to use that function and they are a very bright white color when in use.The timer function can be set easily by turning the machine on a pressing the button with a clock face, and can be set for 1,2,3 or 4 hours, or infinite play with no time limit.The volume up and down buttons are clearly marked, and to go either up and down in volume doesn’t take a lot of clicks. There is a comfortable increase of sound for each click. Cudos for that also. I’ve bought items before that take many many clicks to get to a good volume. The Easysleep sound machine while using pink noise scientifically improved my quantity of sleep!
The Easysleep sound machine uses pink noise to improve deep sleep because of the similarities between the brain’s interpretation of pink noise and the brain waves deep sleep makes. Pink noise, which sounds similar to ocean waves, has a steady rhythm and low frequency. When we sleep, our brain and body go through different stages, one of which is called deep sleep, and during this stage our brain creates certain brain waves. These brain waves created in deep sleep are called delta waves which are slow and high amplitude. The reason pink noise is effective is because its low frequency and consistency promote the synchronization of prior brain waves to later become delta waves. This synchronization from the pink noise encourages your brain waves to slow down and have higher amplitude pushing you into the deep sleep state.Over eight days three peers and I tested whether the Easysleep sound machine, using pink noise, increased deep sleep. We alternated one to one days of using the sound machine while sleeping and not, tracking deep sleep quantity using the ShutEye app. ShutEye uses the phones microphone feature and AI to monitor breathing and determine sleep stages. After compiling the data in a box and whiskers graph, we found that the sound machine with pink noise significantly increased deep sleep in three participants, with one outlier. These findings show that the sound machine and pink noise increase deep sleep.My personal experience with the Easysleep sound machine using pink noise was excellent. The best result being that it scientifically improved my deep sleep. For example, on the first day of the experiment, I didn’t use the sound machine and got two hours and twenty-two minuets of deep sleep. But the next day using the sound machine I got four hours and fifty-six minuets. This is a clear and significant difference. A pattern similar to this continued for the remaining six nights I used it. Additionally, it was very easy to use even if you had no prior experience.

Best sound machine
Don’t spend the extra money on the Hatch. We had one and it crapped out on us. Got this sound machine as a replacement and it’s wonderful. Easy to turn on/off. Nightlight for the toddler. Various sounds to choose from. Travels great. Basically the Hatch without the price tag.

Durable product !

Meine Nachbarn hören leider fast rund um die Uhr TV und Radio, und die Wände übertragen das als nervig wabernden Klangteppich… Mich stört sowas sehr, gerade abends und nachts. Das erworbene Gerät lenkt mich mit seinen Eigenklängen von diesen Nachbargeräuschen gut ab, ohne das man es sselbst dabei sonderlich laut stellen müsste. Man fokussiert such automatisch auf das nähere Geräusch. Man kann dabei auch gut einschlafen. Mein Favorit bei den Klängen ist der prasselnde Regen. Es gibt auch verschiedene Melodien, Klappern, Wassergeräusche, Gebläsetone usw. Ich finde das Gerät super, erspart mir inzwischen manche Nacht mit Ohrstöpseln. Das Nachtlicht ist auch gut. Da ich das Gerät direkt am Bett habe, stört mich auch nicht, dass es nur kabelgebunden läuft. Ich habe manche Geräte mit Akku, die dann doch gerade wieder mal leer sind, wenn man sie braucht.
