Life changing and FUN for nervous doggos! We love Snuffle Snail!
My special needs shelter dog is very nervous. Heâs not interested in Kongs, and treat balls scare him. Other than Lambchop, most new toys scare him. Our dog trainer recommend a âpuzzle toyâ or snuffle mat. This toy is awesome! Itâs the first treat puzzle toy that he actually seems to like. It took him a day or so to figure out how it worked, but now he loves it! It really gives him something to focus on, and it definitely calms him down when he gets worked up. I didnât expect my picky guy to take to it! He sees you take it out, and he gets excited. Itâs by far his favorite toy. We are doing other things for his anxiety, but Snailey is a big help in our training. It has squeakers and the deep pockets hold a good amount of treats.One caveat… Itâs not the toughest or most durable toy…. A dog who likes to destroy toys would probably tear it up in no time.

My dog loves her snail!
My dog loves this toy! The only problem is that the little slits where you out the trays are pretty easy to tear apart. It is still usable though and could be sewn up. My girl gets this every night at bedtime. It is one of her favorites. I would definitely recommend except for a heavy chewer.

Great idea, but not durable
I love this idea to keep my dogs busy for a while. They absolutely love it when I bring them out. However, the compartments where you hide the treats are not any more durable than the material the snail is made out of. When your dogs are chewing and scratching trying to get to the treat, it doesn’t take long to destroy the compartments. We’ve had ours for over a year and they are still useable, just a little ratty looking.

New design has pros and cons
We’ve had this toy for 6 days. It lasted significantly less time than the old design. The pocket covers were ripped off first. This morning a hole formed in the body of it that made it through the top layer. I appreciate that stuffing doesn’t come out anymore when that happens as there appears to be an inner liner on the new design. The old design was felt material and then you’re right into the stuffing.Regardless, ordered 2 more. My dog loves this toy. We’re not crazy about the new material and the breakaway pockets. I hope these next 2 last as long as the one we ordered 6 months ago and the one we ordered 4 months ago.

The Original Version of This Toy Was Tougher
Our year-old female Golden Retriever chewed holes into all the food compartments on the first version of this toy, ripping apart each compartment with her teeth. So we decided to try this s-called improved, “tougher” snail since the concept for this toy is good, and our dog enjoys getting the food out. Unfortunately, this second version didn’t hold up for more than a day! Our dog tore off all four compartment covers within about 2 hours. They were barely sewed on, rather than being a reinforced extensions of the fabric for the entire snail overall, like the first version. Also, the first version had 6 food compartments compared to the 4 useless ones on version 2. This second iteration is really much, much more cheaply made. Do NOT waste your money!!!

My dog loved it, but 20 minutes in, she ripped the seams of the toy. We stitched the hole, but she ripped a different hole in it on the second use. Might work for smaller or more gentle dogs, but mine is very persistent, so its unusable. Needs to be more heavy duty for these dogs.

Super cool product – just not for my lab retriever mix (45lb). She chewed out the Velcro that holders the entire thing together and then went for the stuffing inside.After actually looking at the description, I can see that it isnât for big chewers like my dog so skip if your dog likes to gut their toys. (Also, just because she ripped out the stuffing doesnât mean I canât stuff it still and tie it up so still works for me)As a mental toy – maybe 4/5 cause it kept her busy for the two minutes it was intactAs a stuffed toy – 5/5 cause we use it as a tug of war toyAll in all, not for heavy chewers but a really good toy overall

I think if you have a small dog it may be alright, but our Bull Arab destroyed this in a matter of seconds. Was fun while it lasted! Wish they offered an ultra-durable version because the concept s good!
