Goof Fit
This was ideal for my rescue cat’s first experiences outdoors at 20 months. He had never eeen outdoors until my house, where he could look out the windows. First, I carried him on my arms outdoors. Once I had this harness I put him on the ground to feel his feet on the natural grass and smell the blades of dry grass and greener grass in the protected side yard. After a couple more experiences like that I took him in my arms to see the back yard, talking to him explaining this was his house and his yard. This cat acted like it had only seen a dark basement. It was all a bid adventure for him.I put the vest and leash on again, and he looked at everything again. The grass was different here. Next he walked around a little with me holding the leash straight up). He stayed close, looking around for me. Finally, he saw a grasshopper and became a cat. I didn’t put him in his vest again. I rewarded him with a breakaway collar with a name medallion. He was so proud.The vest and leash had meant he got to go outside. The breakaway collar and ID medallion meant he had graduated to spend time outdoors. Eventually he went thru two more name and phone number breakaway collars, cleverly removing them while outdoors.The experience made it clear to neighbors he is not a stray cat. I do wish he would have something to show strangers he is not a stray cat. I keep him brushed, and he attends to good grooming. It was the vest that made him feel secure and safe. He enjoyed getting up on a chair to wait for me to put it on, adjusting it yo be comfortable. He would nudge it with his nose when he wanted to go out to see more outside.This cat was not timid, only he had been abused. He needed to discover a better experience and has.I recomment this vest and leash as comfortable for the cat and secure enough if he was startled I could quickly get him up in my arms again. It protected him from grown neighborhood cats and curious neighbor dogs also, letting them know from the start he lives here and this is his house and his yard. I am of the opinion it is best to send a clear message this cat lives here.I told this story of this rescue cat if you have a traumatized cat after the cat feel comfortable with their new home inside the house the vest and leash help introduce the cat to the outdoors as I have. Some cats might bolt. I think the cat needs to feel your home is their home first.The photo shows a kitten. Of course, that is a different situation. There I would also think it protects your cat.

High quality. Very NICE. Cat adjusted EASILY and quickly once I got the snugness corrected.
After escaping twice…don’t ask me HOW a cat could EVER get OUT of this harness…but it’s b/c I had it TOO LOOSE. Once I snugged it up enough without being too tight, Louis has kept it on. Doesn’t seem to bother him in the least, which is impressive, b/c he never liked wearing ANY collars. He’s been wearing this harness for about 3 weeks now. The trick for putting it ON, is to RELEASE the 2 clasps in the back that were verydifficult to snap open the first couple of times. Louis was IN BETWEEN sizes…so I went w/the medium, which is why it took me a few tries to get the right ‘fit’ for him.

Updated review: The company sent the correct harness (Small, Lilac), but only after I left a neg review specifically about their weird and then unresponsive reaction to asking them to abide their policy and replace the one that was too large (we had measured; our cat is between sizes). The harness itself is terrific; it fits well, it’s beautiful, it’s escape-proof (for our cat), and our cat likes it! The one thing I’d change is that the straps don’t tighten evenly, which can lead to a lopsided harness and possible back pain if has to be tightened down all the way. So in my experience, if your cat is between sizes, order the next size down, not up. That way, when/if you tighten it, the harness should remain centered on your pet’s back.Happy cat-walking!

Really nice harness!
The red is beautiful and vivid, and it’s very well-made. It’s not going to scratch them or hurt their skin. It’s very smooth. I’d say they run a bit small. My cat is big, 15lbs, and the medium was tiny. (I thought I measured right?!) Also take into account their fur. My baby is furry and that took up some space in the harness. I’d get an xl next time. Great value for the $. I couldn’t test escapabilty, but it seemed very safe.

Product is NOT escaping proof as described
the product itself is very nice and well constructed. I put it on my cat and he didn’t quite like it. I tried a couple more times inside the house to get him used to it, but he ended up getting out of it! In the product description it says the pet will not be able to escape!

Size runs small
Size in the description is not accurate. They definitely run smaller than listed.I measured my cat and he had a 9.5 neck so according to the size chart, the XS should be perfect as it can support up to 11.5 in. Well we get the extra small and fully expended out to max width and it fits very tight on him. Way too small for him despite being right in the middle of the stated range. Will be returning.

I have a somewhat chubby cat and the regular harnesses would either be too big or too small to fit him. This one you can adjust it and it fits my cat perfectly! I have not had my cat escape using this harness. So far I am like this a lot and would recommend it specially if you’re cat is between harness sizes
