Works great, dog hates it
The Supet Dog Grooming Hammock is a practical tool for grooming small dogs and cats, designed to make the process easier for both pets and their owners. For my little 10 lb dog, the hammock proved to be effective, even if he wasn’t a fan of it.Setting up the hammock was straightforward, and it provided a secure way to keep my dog still while grooming. The fabric is durable and supportive, ensuring he felt safe despite his initial reluctance. Once in the hammock, it allowed me to access hard-to-reach areas, making grooming tasks like nail trimming and fur brushing much more manageable. While my dog was not particularly fond of the experienceâshowing some resistance initiallyâit’s clear that the hammock does its job well. It kept him stable, which is a significant advantage when trying to groom a wiggly pet. The adjustable straps are a nice touch, accommodating different sizes and providing a comfortable fit. This grooming hammock is a great investment for pet owners who want to simplify grooming sessions. Although it may take some time for pets to get used to it, the benefits of having a secure and efficient grooming solution are undeniable. If you’re looking for a practical way to groom your small dog or cat, this hammock is worth considering.

Size Carefully
Works like a champ. Well built, and zero issues. It comes with straps and carabiners to easily attach the sling to a hanger. Be careful with your sling sizing though. Measure your dogâs gait before ordering. Donât order based on the picture of the dog in the ad or based on weight. If you do, youâll find thereâs no way your full-grown Labrador is going to fit into a medium-sized sling. With the correct size, the dog is comfortable and stress-free.Update: Sept 2024I still stand by this product, after a year of use. Great sling and the dog has had no issues being in the sling for nail trims. One of the caribeaners needed to be replaced, but other than that, has held up well.

Life Altering for me AND the Chihuahua!
Dealing with trimming my dogâs nails has been traumatizing for everyone in our household. We have a prescription of doggy downers we give the dog to help the process, but she is wise to it. As soon as she starts feeling dizzy, she knows what is about to happen and goes to hide under the bed. My wife cuts the nails while I pin her down. The dog growls and snarls, then whines, then CRIES at the top of her lungs. The the time weâre done, my wife is in tears, weâve all yelled at each other, and the dog runs and hides for the rest of the night. With this hammock, cutting our dogs nails is a non-issue. Hang her in the hammock, she has nothing to push against, and the procedure is done in no time. No drugs, no arguing, no problems. We are fortunate to have a free-standing pull up bar to hang her from. Iâm not sure I would like to hang her from a shower rod. That said, if you are dealing with the same ordeal we were, and your only real problem is finding spot to hang your dog, itâs worth figuring out! FYIâ¦. Our dog is a chihuahua mix at approximately 12 pounds.

M is too big for our mini doxies; helps a little w/ trimming anxiety
Based on the measurements and what other mini dachshund owners had ordered, plus their successes, we ordered one MEDIUM in blue for our two male dachshunds. One is about 11 pounds and the other about 14 (more of a tweenie-lean and long, not fat). The Medium is WAY too big for our mini 4 year old weighing about 11 pounds. He can easily slip his legs out of the holes. It is “okay” for our 14 pound, 7 year old male. However, it still takes TWO people. And we use this over the walk in shower kit door so the included straps are way to small to fit over that rail. We use heavy duty rubber tie downs from our truck travel kit. Two work well. You lay the harness on the floor. Call them to it. Hold them still and place legs in the holes. One person keeping them still while the other raises the sides. My husband has to hold the front two and the rear two tightly with his fists, especially for the 11 pounder because if not, he’ll just slip right out of it. Once he holds them up in the air, he walks them to the shower. He positions the harness under the rubber tie downs and I secure the metal tie down hooks into the harness loops. And he NEVER leaves hold of the harness, especially with the 11 pounder. They are not happy with it. They are NOT “zen” or “tranquil”. I give them a treat when they are attached to get them started. Then while he contains a firm grip on the harness (especially behind the head) and making sure our smaller dachshund is moving his legs out of the holes…I use the rechargeable nail grinder. I have tried the clippers, but they still don’t like the sound of snap. We have found it is very important to still wear a headlamp because the lighting isn’t that great in the shower stall. They still wriggle and whimper for the nail trimming. I give a treat in between each toe. Even though we’ve been doing the 4 year olds nails over two years (he’s a rescue) and the 7 year olds nails (rescue) for nearly four years, they still don’t like it. The harness has made it easier in that the older dachshund can’t fight us quite as much as the little one cannot bite us or make teeth contact —as easily. It is an improvement but not nearly the improvement that some have reported and showed on youtube. We bought two licky mats to suction to the shower wall and plan to smear no salt added nut butter (we have one with a peanut allergy so we can’t use peanut butter) when the order arrives. Someone posted a video of this online and it can give them a happy distraction while they lick and you trim. There really needs to be some sort of extra security for behind the head. My husband uses one fist to keep a tight grip behind their head. He also tries to face them into the shower so they cannot see what I’m doing, otherwise, the little one still tries to teeth my hands while i work. We don’t want him to have that first bite experience. We’ve used this three or four times now in the past week since we bought it. In general, we try to work at least a couple of nails at a time, trying to work on their nails about 3 times per week whenever possible. We’ve tried it on the couch, on the porch loveseat outside, standing over the sink, and now this hanging harness. We would have definitely purchased the SMALL if we could have tried this on in a store. The thin provided straps will fit over a standard shower rod or broom handle, however, we didn’t feel safe enough in the security to hang them from the shower rod since they are the types that expand to fit the wall space. The heavy duty rubber tie downs we had in the garage give us more options and allow us to use it in the shower kit.Hopefully we can get them to relax more when we implement the licky mat distraction.I would never try to do this alone. It would be very unsafe having them at that height. One lady had a tip: she put the harness loops over a mop handle and placed the mop handle between the rungs of two dining room chairs. I guess you’d have to sit on the floor, because the dog would be hanging pretty low, but might be an option for a single person.

My doxie hates having his nails trimmed. I hang him in this thing and he just goes limp. Our hour long nail trimming ordeal is now fives minutes and done. The hammock is well made. The carabiner clips are lightweight aluminum. It works like a charm.

Although this product said for small dogs, it is too big for my small chihuahua cross Jack Russell. I did measure my dog as well to check if it would fit. The arm holes are too large and the fabric comes up too high on the neck area.Looks reasonably made.
