The hilarious, colorful #1 New York Times bestselling phenomenon that every kid wants! Gift a copy to someone you love today.
Poor Duncan just wants to color. But when he opens his box of crayons, he finds only letters, all saying the same thing: His crayons have had enough! They quit! Blue crayon needs a break from coloring all those bodies of water. Black crayon wants to be used for more than just outlining. And Orange and Yellow are no longer speaking—each believes he is the true color of the sun. What can Duncan possibly do to appease all of the crayons and get them back to doing what they do best?
With giggle-inducing text from Drew Daywalt and bold and bright illustrations from Oliver Jeffers, The Day the Crayons Quit is the perfect gift for new parents, baby showers, back-to-school, or any time of year! Perfect for fans of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Sciezka and Lane Smith.

A Creative and Relatable Masterpiece for Kids
The Day the Crayons Quit is one of the most creative and unique children’s books we’ve come across! The storyline is incredibly relatable, capturing the quirky personalities of each crayon in a way thatâs both funny and heartwarming. The illustrations are fantasticâthey truly look like they were drawn by a child, which adds to the charm and makes it even more engaging for young readers. My daughter loved this book so much that she performed it as a play for her preschool graduation, and it was the cutest thing ever! The entire family adored it, and we enjoyed it so much that we ended up getting the other books in the series. This book is a must-have for any childâs collection. Itâs a perfect blend of creativity, humor, and relatability that kids and parents will both enjoy!

Creative story and cute!
Finally! A highly rated children’s book that is actually good. I have no faith in the ratings on some of these books, but this one is unique. The illustrations are cute, the story is creative, and even as an adult I was excited to turn the page and find out how the other colors felt.

My go to 2nd birthday gift
This book is an absolute delight! The story is clever and funny, with each crayon having its own personality and grievances. The illustrations are adorable, and itâs a hit with both kids and adults. My child loves it, and it opens up conversations about feelings and creativity. A must-read for any family library; itâs both entertaining and meaningful!

Such a great story for kids!
I wouldnât have given this a second thought until somebody told me it was a great story. This is the cutest little story for kids. It starts offwith the crayons writing to the child regarding how much they are being used and how much they feel they are being abandoned, etc. Very creative and then thereâs a story beyond that but I donât want to give away what happens.I bought this for my grandchildren. I am a retired teacher and I can guarantee you, this is a great book! In fact would be an awesome book for an art teacher to read to the children or have the children read it aloud!

A+
My grandchildren first heard this audio book on a trip and loved it, so we ordered it for them through used books on Amazon. The book was in prime condition and it’s such a fun story with beautiful illustrations. They like to read it on their own, but their favorite is with the audio book which can be found on Youtube to go along with it. The one we liked was recorded by Buddy Son. We love it and they love it. If you decide to buy it, be sure and point out the ways Duncan tries to appease his crayons with his class drawing on the next to the last page. You can’t go wrong with his one!

Cute and educational.
I used this book to reinforce color learning. The vocabulary is more suited to an older child, but having a conversation with my 2 1/2 child. This is a book that will grow with your child.

I am amazed at how creatively this book is written by the author . Great illustrations too. I got this for my 4years old and I ended up loving it. She likes it too. At first she did not get the context of the book, but slowly she is trying to understand. But she loves to listen to me reading this for her. Probably kids age above 5 or 6 may able to understand and enjoy this even more.
