Customers find the illustrations cute, colorful, and clear. They describe the book as a great addition to toddler libraries and a perfect addition for Hungry Caterpillar fans. The sturdy, good quality, glossy finish keeps children engaged with the colors. Readers appreciate the animal-based alphabet and letter recognition, which helps children learn letters and animal names. Many consider it a fun alphabet book for kids 3 and up. However, some customers feel the language learning is limited to just the letter words, while others feel it’s a great way to teach letters and animals.

Love Eric Carle books
Colorful and pretty.I like that it has the full alphabet at the beginning and end. Repetition is key to learning.Wish it had textures for sensory but thatâs okay

One of my 2-year-oldâs favorites!
This is our third copy of this book because my 2-year-old inevitably starts ripping pages out to âsaveâ the pictures 𤪠He LOVES Eric Carle books, and this was an accidental discovery whilst buying Carleâs standard titles. Itâs a thick, sturdy book (just not sturdy enough to withstand a determined toddler) and the pictures are beautiful. Still havenât figured out how to pronounce âxoloâ yet, though.

What a Hit!
This book is my 21 month old grandson’s favorite book. We read this book at least five times per day. It has already taught him so much as he is beginning to recognize letters. It is very educational, but it is also fun for a young child because of the colors and the animals.

I bought this for my 3 year old who I realized did not properly know his ABCâs. There are a few weird animals in the book that I feel they couldâve chosen better however he loved the book and it really helped him learn quick.
