I’m genuinely shocked! I RARELY give 5 stars and I wish I could give 6.
We have two dogs right around 2 years of age. So, they’re really just big puppies. We’re barely outside the “they chew up everything” stage where we can finally get away with leaving shoes laying out (well, sometimes – lol). One is a 65lb American Bulldog and the other is a 55lb Catahoula Cur/Blue Heeler mix. Our little Cur/Heeler is, as expected, super high energy and our American Bulldog just doesn’t have enough energy to tire her out. They both chew, but that little Cur/Heeler pours every ounce of her excess energy into chewing all day long. We take bets on how many minutes, hours, or days toys will last in our house. And, when our American Bulldog decides to finally rip into a toy after perhaps days of teasing it, he can destuff, shred, or break one down in minutes.I’ve done my best to buy the toughest, highest rated toys, nearly always Kong brand and turned a blind eye to the cost because buying toys means saving furniture and footwear. While the Kong Extreme is indeed laying around the house months after buying it, it’s really just because they don’t chew on it… at all (not sure why, but perhaps it’s too big or shaped wrong for them). Anyhow, every other toy finds its way to shreds or so small it gets thrown away.I’ve included two pictures of a large Nylabone Reach and Clean Chew Toy we bought them June 15 (first pic) and what it looked like by August 5th (second pic). It really sucks to step on it with accidentally bare feets when it looks like the 2nd picture, btw. I also took a picture of our little Cur/Heeler with her Zogoflex as of August 21 – she’s had it since August 5th. I know not as long as the Nylabone just yet, but I’m still utterly flabbergasted by how intact it still is. Plus, they’re not hard and they DON’T hurt to step on with bare feet. ;)Both our pups LOVE their Zogoflexes and our Cur/Heeler spends HOURS on hers every day. I’m shocked that they barely look worn after over 2 weeks! A few punctures, some slight discoloration, but whole, intact, and still providing TONS of pleasure and energy outlet for our fur babies.I will say, it sounds like they’re chewing on tires… or really durable flipflops. LOL! But, they’re happy and I know my money was well spent. Now I understand the cost because it will be a long time before we need another.Needless to say I highly recommend this for your tough chewers. In fact, please buy this product… we want to keep them around so they’re still around when we’re ready to replace these.

Durable for heavy chewers
Super durable toys. These are all I will buy for my aggressive chewer. All other chew toys are destroyed immediately. West Pet chew toys last years.

Great toy for an obsessive chewer! Would be excellent for a teething puppy, too!
At least I don’t have to worry about her breaking a tooth while chewing this.5/29/15 Update -Nearly a month after receiving it, this toy is still going strong and looks brand new. My dog hasn’t been able to put a dent in it, whatsoever. She likes playing “keep away” with it, fetch (although I don’t let her catch it — She only retrieves it after I throw it, since it’s so heavy), and even tries to play tug-o-war with it. lol I haven’t tested it’s ability to float, but my dog isn’t too fond of water, anyway. I also recommend the West Paw Tux toy, which I purchased in the size Large. Our next West Paw toy will either be the Tizzi or the BÅ«mi.
I’m so glad I discovered this company! Most chew toys don’t last over a day or two with my Heeler mix. After seeing how well the Hurley and Tux have held up (comparable to Kong Exteme, in my opinion!) and knowing they’re made with safe materials, they’ve gained a customer for life! My dog is happy and so am I! Thank you, West Paw Design!
I ordered the large size aqua-colored Hurley toy. It’s a really nice color and is a bit bigger than I figured it would be, but it’s still a great size for my medium-sized dog. My dog still prefers an antler chew over this toy, but what can you expect when this one is made of rubber? Both my dog and my parents’ teething four month old lab puppy played with it yesterday, and it still looks new, not a mark on it. I love that it’s dishwasher safe and made of safe material for my dog. So far, only a large Extreme Kong toy has stood up to my dog’s chewing (large elk antlers and sterilized beef bones last quite a while but are worn down over a few weeks and little pieces break off, which make me nervous), so I’ll be ecstatic if this toy holds up. If she ends up destroying it, I’ll update my review. So far, so good though.

Good for a toy, not good for a serious chew session
Problem: 4 year old rescue pit bull mix with a serious need to chew and the ability to destroy any toy within minutes. This is compounded by the fact that she has bad teeth and literally chipped her tooth on an elk horn.Solution: a soft yet strong chew toy.I will say that the Hurley looked good, us easy to clean and easy to find! (All dog owners know that finding the darn chew toy is half the battle when the see their precious pup eyeing their brand new work shoes)Sadly, this toy did NOT last a full night of chomping. That said, our little one has two chew modes Nervous and Night time. This is great for nervous chew sessions. I will stick with the dildo-like goughnuts maxx for nighttime chewing.Bottom line: get this as a CHEWABLE toy not a chew toy. I make that distinction because this Hurley will last forever as a toy that can withstand the powerful jaws of your pit. It will not, however, last long during an all out chew-a-thon.Pics to follow!

The West Paw Zogoflex Hurley is hands down the best chew toy Iâve ever purchased for my aggressive chewer! My dog has gone through countless toys, but this one has truly stood the test of time. The durable material is not only tough but also flexible, which means it withstands even the most vigorous chewing sessions without showing any signs of wear.I love that it’s also designed for multi-useâwhether weâre playing fetch in the yard or having a chew session at home, this toy fits the bill perfectly. I also appreciate that itâs non-toxic, giving me peace of mind knowing my pup is playing safely.Another bonus is how easy it is to clean. A quick rinse is all it takes to keep it looking new.Overall, I canât recommend the Zogoflex Hurley enough for anyone with a tough chewer. Itâs durable, versatile, and my dog absolutely loves it! This toy has made playtime much more enjoyable and stress-free. Definitely a 5-star product!

Still like new 3 or 4 weeks on with a very aggressive chewer.

Bought this for our Staffy X. He had it snapped in half in under an hour. Not as tough as I would have hoped given the price.
