Good looks, great performance, deeply relaxing!
As someone with chronic insomnia, Iâve been on the market for a white noise machine for quite some time. My old machine was big and didnât look very nice. And the sound was not ideal.I picked up the Douni. Packed responsibly in sturdy cardboard, the Douni Sleep Sound machine looks and feels different than any other Iâve seen. With easily the best faux wood grain finish and texture Iâve ever seen, this is a very handsome unit that would look good on any side table… seriously, the pictures donât do justice, this looks like real wood. It even feels a bit like wood, but without the weight. I quickly was able to get it set up and plugged in with the extra long usb-type power cord that was provided. Itâs a small detail, but usually these kinds of machines have short power cords which are awkward to set up.A short user guide explains the functions of each button, but itâs fairly intuitive. There is a timer function which turns off the sound after a period of time, but it can be disabled so you can run the machine full time, no problem. Volume controls and buttons work well like all Douni products Iâve bought. Three sound selection buttons toggle through the various sounds of each category. I found my favorite sound, âcrickets at nightâ right away. I really like the generous selection of fan sounds and also the noise sounds – white, pink, brown, and other frequencies. The waterfall and creek sounds were also excellent. Iâve made field recordings of nature sounds before myself, I can tell the quality here is unique.What really sets this one from others Iâve tried though, is the lack of an identifieable loop point: each sound plays naturally, with no odd rhythms. The sense of calm I got from the sounds I tried was much deeper than others Iâve tried. The sound is excellent – the noise and fan sounds have lower frequencies present which help mask outside sounds. There is currently a big road project going on right outside my house, but I found a noise sound which effectively canceled the noise from the trucks and the work going on. Remarkable!I love how small it is, how sophisticated it looks, and most importantly how it sounds and performs. Iâve had two solid nights of deep sleep so far and I look forward to using it tonight. If I was to suggest anything it might be those light-up buttons which are present on the A7 Bluetooth speaker, since this is used primarily in a dark room. But that is nit-picking, and would likely add to the price of the unit.This is a simple, elegant, effective noise machine which is more relaxing than others Iâve tried. I definitely recommend it.

ADHD in the Office – Works like a Charm!
I have inattentive-type ADHD, and with COVID increasing my stress levels, I found that my distractibility from nearby conversations was getting much worse. I had been using the fan on my window AC in my office for white noise, but with fall coming on, that was being put into storage.So, at the prompting of my boss, I bought this little white noise machine. It fits neatly on a shelf next to my computer and plugs in to the USB, and even after only three days of using it I can’t believe how much it is helping me stay focused.I generally use the train noise setting, but when my boss is having meetings I switch to one of the white noise options for better sound cancellation. I do keep it close to me, and use it on a low-moderate volume, so I can’t say how well it works at filling a roomVery easy to set up and intuitive to use. It does remember your last settings regarding volume and which noise which is nice. My one wish is – since nature noise, fan noise, and white noise are three different buttons – that, each button would remember the last sound from that sound set you were using when you switch back. Train noise is the last of the nature sounds, so I have to shuffle through the other 9 when I want to switch back to it.Over all, a lovely little device with a pretty form factor that does a good job with what I need it to do. Highly recommended.

Too quiet
This is the second one of these I’ve purchased. The only problem is that it does not get as loud as the previous one. I use this to keep the noise of early morning traffic from waking up my dogs. This one does not get loud enough. I have no idea why they would have turned the sound down, but oh well, I’ll look for another brand.**EditThe company offered me a full refund which I though was very generous. If loudness is not a problem, this sound machine is nice because of the range of sounds it has.**2nd EditThis company is wonderful to work with. They sent me a new sound machine! I didn’t ask for anything but they still approached me to make things right. It still isn’t as loud as my old one. There is a noticeable difference. But, if it doesn’t have to be really loud, this is a great little sound machine and the company is great to work with, which is a rare thing these days. I put it on an extension cord and moved it closer to the dog beds and that is working. (Don’t worry, they can’t get to the cords, they are short little dogs.) I changed my review to 4 stars since I could make it work without too much hassle and because the seller is so great. I would give it 5 but it it still isn’t as loud as my old one. I do recommend this sound machine and the seller.

I purchased this white noise maker to help drowned out my neighbours and their noisy jacuzzi motor, of which they’re oblivious too. So far, it seems to fit the bill quite nicely. It has a multitude of relatively good quality sounds which is coupled with a good speaker. The stylish casing is also very welcome as it can fit in a wide array of different home decor tastes. I’m now considering purchasing a second unit for another area of the house. I would recommend this handy little peace maker!

This machine has a lot of sounds to choose from , but there are only a few I like and find relaxing. Maybe there will only be a few for most people and they will be different for different people, I guess, but I can’t imagine anyone falling asleep to some of them. The other con is that the sound quality is not top notch. On the pro side, it is easy to set a timer to have it on for a half hour, an hour or hour and a half, or continuously. I have found an hour and a half to be perfect for a good nights sleep. The light that shows it is on is tiny and does not really cast much light, so it doesn’t interfere with sleep.The device looks really nice and doesn’t take up too much space. Over all it is helpful, although I question if I could not have gotten a better one for less money. Perhaps my expectations are too high for the sound quality of a fourty nine dollar machine. The sound quality is not terrible but the speaker lacks clarity. It’s way better with earphones, but I don’t want to use those for sleeping.

I purchased this with a pair of wired earbuds that are so small and soft that I canât feel them when I sleep on my side. The machine works great with and without the earbuds!!
