How did we get started?
Yogasleep started in 1962 with love and a dog bowl! Our founder, Jim Buckwalter, was a traveling salesman. His insomniac wife liked to travel with him. She learned that the soothing lull of the air conditioner unit helped her get to sleep. Jim loved to tinker, & got to work creating the very first sound machine that replicated the constant whirring noise of moving air with none of the disturbance of actual moving air. And thus, the Dohm was born!

The perfect white noise machine
First, I’m not sure about the reviews mentioning that this white noise machine is too quiet. If you fully twist the middle and top sections open, it’s like a jet engine idling. You’d have to put the thing 20′ across the room just to have a conversation with someone. I like keeping it almost fully closed (middle & top) and it’s the perfect volume for sleeping.Also, it’s ‘almost’ bordering on green noise fully closed, but still white noise. The frequency remains too high to be considered green, but like I just mentioned, it sort of gets close. Some reviews have mentioned that this is a green & white noise machine, but the title states “white, green”, because the power switch is green, and the unit is white. What you’re buying here is solely a white noise machine that wants to get into that mid-range frequency that green noise provides, but just can’t. Still, this is an excellent unit and I’m more than happy with the purchase. It blocks out all of the background noise and helps me sleep at night.

You Have Seen These In Doctor’s Offices. Because They Work !
I didn’t know I needed a background sound machine. I bought this thinking it would help my wife sleep. I soon found I was sleeping sounder and longer myself. We had a small digital sound machine that claimed it did not “loop” the sound. We both could hear what to us was repetitive sounds that were annoying. Since this is an actual fan, and the sound isn’t made by a computer chip, it’s sound soon seems to disappear into the background and the outside road sounds disappear as well.Well made in America, not ugly like the doctor’s office units, plenty of volume if you want it. Buy this one!

Does the Job
I bought one of these after we had one in an hotel room. It’s much too big for traveling with in my opinion, but puts out a good, soothing sound much like a room fan (only one sound is available). The volume is controllable, a nice feature. My only criticism is it occasionally sets up a hum, I think in harmony with a wood surface, and the price is high in my opinion.

I live in a building that is poorly insulated and I can alhear a pin drop at nighttime. I have it on every night and all I hear is the white noise from this noise canceller, which is all I want to hear. I have tried many different types with nature sounds etc. but nothing works for me but this one.

The first one received quit within 2 days, but the replacement seems to be good. It is very effective in cancelling out noise from the floor below. It is also helpful in blocking noises so dog doesn’t bark.

Bought this for my babies room instead of music and I love it! Had two settings and adjustable tone and is much nicer than listening to the same lullaby for 10 hours every night. Plus itâs small enough that it doesnât take up much space or look bulky with your decor.
