I WISH I HAD THIS FOR MY FIRST 2 KIDS.
After years of wrestling with a crib mattress protector and it being even worse when I added a topper, I decided to try this. My gosh. Why didn’t I think of looking for this sooner?! Machine washable AND dryable is a huge plus!! As others have stated, it is indeed only waterproof on the top and sides, but I don’t think that will be an issue. I suppose large quantities of liquids could soak around the edge and to the bottom if given enough time, though. It’s padded on the top which is a nice touch I guess but I don’t think it makes much of a difference on a foam mattress. I removed a star because it only zips on one end and a little ways down the sides, so it is harder to put on than the one that came with our mattress. And I just gotta add, if you’re shopping for these before you’ve purchased a mattress, just do yourself a favor and don’t get a foam mattress. Then you don’t need to worry about a waterproof layer. Whose idea was it anyway to use a giant sponge as a mattress for the messiest sleepers on earth?? I can’t believe I didn’t realize that before I bought a new mattress for my 3rd.

Good quality, durable, priced right
We had a unique use for the crib mattress cover. We had a baby bed left over that our grandchildren outgrew. We were able to give the bed away, but the mattress was unwanted. Shorter story, our dog is old, we let him sleep on the mattress, he loves it, his claws were damaging the mattress, but so far, the mattress cover has withstood his claws.
